I'm quite neutral. I don't condone anything Jones did but MMA fans in general (on here) are hypocrites and crybabies. The hardest sport has the biggest whiners. It's kind of sad.

On that note, I really don't care what Jones and Cormier do outside the ring. I care about the fight. I know it's bad but the trashtalk does pump me up. HAHAHA. I think Jones is being over analyzed which is hilarious.

I am now starting to like jones's banter. Yes he's an incredible ****, but sitting back and being impartial he's actually quite fun to watch. I love to hate him, can't take away that he's an all time great though.

Oh but the fan girls now have a modified race card. Someone here claimed that the only reason racist JJ critics are rallying behind Cormier is because he is generally quiet, respectful, etc. In his words: 'a black man who knows his place'.
 
Well I've always been a Jones fan, and always been a Cormier fan too (even before SF when he fought down here). Having said all that I hope Jones can win, don't really know why, I think I like a dominant champ. Would love it if DC lost then went up and fought Cain for the HW strap, I know it won't happen though.

It's more likely Jones will crush Cormier. Dominate the LHW division for another year or 2. Go up to heavyweight and fight Cain. Cormier won't fight Cain. He has an olympic ribbon though. ;)

Such a ridiculous post, and shows that you obviously don't get it. I know its difficult to understand why people don't like what you like.

The main reason why DC is liked more, is because he doesn't come off as a tool, whereas Jones on the other hand has had so many moments where he just puts he's own foot in his mouth and looks like a douche bag in the process. This is the reason why people dislike Jones, you just don't see that because you're a super fan boy.

I tend to find that Jones fans are usually casual MMA fans that just want to cheer for the guy on top. If DC serves up Jones an A level ass whoopin, it will be like a ship abandoning. I'm not talking about the Sherdog users per se, but most of the Jones fans on his facebook page are nauseatingly naive.

You're right. I would say it's not even genuine "like", they don't hate him, but they just "support" him because of Jones.

What Jones needs to do is accept no one likes him, so instead of presenting a bipolar facade of obviously fake "nice guy" vs the "real Jones" he needs to work an image that best suits him. He has no acting skills to act out a better role though. Plus the "real Jones" isn't that marketable. You have to be "nice smiling guy" to get the promotions and sponsorship. :icon_lol: At this point I think more ppl "like" Cain and he doesn't do or say anything.
 
Jones acts like he is the Messiah most of the time. That's why people dislike his character. It's quite simple.

Jones is like the new Tito Ortiz. He's a dominant champ that people love to hate because he's kind of an asshole. Hell, all Jones needs to do is duck Gus for a few years and marry a porn star and he is Tito. Some people tried to claim the Tito hate was because of his Mexican heritage too. They were just as wrong.
