This is a thread dedicated to hunting for the origins of Sherdog vernacular (even if that hunt leads outside of Sherdog). How does it work? Just try to find the oldest post of a common Sherdog phrase. Said poster will be credited with being the first to say it until someone can find an older post with the saying.

“Touch with jab”
-Thanks to @Doubled june 2018:
http://forums.sherdog.com/threads/got-into-a-fight-at-walmart.2532123/

“Fill the room with Uppercuts”
-Thanks for this saying @Pugilistic from September 2014 (unless someone can find an older post): http://forums.sherdog.com/threads/would-this-warrant-some-uppercuts.2817607/

“Lay-and-Pray”
-Thanks to Bas Rutten who invented the phrase May 1, 2000 to describe Kazayuki Fujita strategy while fighting Mark Kerr.

“Sprawl and brawl”
-Thanks to @-Rottweiler- Jan 21, 2007 describing Liddell and Cro Cops style. http://forums.sherdog.com/threads/chuck-liddel-vs-cro-cop.498322/

“Curb Stomp”
-Thanks to the now banned @Barut who used the phrase Oct. 15, 2007 to describe the Wildcats defeating LSU. I Suspect an older post exists given the phrase was used in American History X in 1998. http://forums.sherdog.com/threads/better-to-be-a-geek-than-a-muscle-head.660938/

Who is Lyoto Machida? - everyone a long time ago

I’m no groundhog expert - I can’t remember who this was

Touch you with the jab; cold hard stare; man up - guy Marcelo or some name like that.

Fill the room with uppercuts was being used when I started on here in Feb of 2009.

Is this an apocalyptic thread?
