The delusion

Conor is one of the most talented fighters. Theres no mistake as to why he is on a "great" list. But Nate was never a ranked WW. He was barely a ranked LW.
They chose Diaz because it was suppose to be an easy fight aka someone who doesn't wrestle and will swing , and sold it as WW for PPV buys.
Ben Henderson ( Bendo ) was right in the mix with Pettis and RDA during this time, and before that was this scrappy wrestler named Frankie Edgar.

UFC 5-8 years ago, you would never have faced a Champ unless you went through 2-3 outta 4 of these guys. Look at the strength of schedule of GSP's up and coming into his title fights.
Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, First Defense was vs the BEST wrestler at WW at the time Jon Fitch.
After losing to Serra, he had to fight Koscheck who was again another NCAA wrestler, and Matt Hughes ANOTHER time before getting a shot at the title.


GSP use to have bashers way worse than Conor 5-6 years ago.
Now they are all silenced.
He can't wrestle a NCAA Wrestler in Koscheck. wrong.
He can't Handle NCAA Champ X2 Fitch. Wrong
He will get subbed by a BJJJ Phenom. Wrong
Serra will KO him again!. Wrong
Thiago Alves will kickbox and is wrestling immune. Nope
Dan Hardy euro Kickboxer because george can't take a hit. Nope
Condit and Sheilds- taller rangy fighter hard to keep down. Nope
Hendricks will KO in one punch. Nope
Bisping is a bigger man, and hard to keep down. Beat.

Now all we want is the same of Conor.
Can he beat a Real Wrestler equal size and on full camp? Mendez was neither.
Can he beat a hungry scrappy well rounded fighter in Ferg? Because he Barely beat an unranked WW in Diaz, who is actually more of mid ranked LW. Who won first fight on short camp as well.
Why not give Mendez an INSTANT rematch but with full camp?
Can he fight Kabib? Edgar? RDA?

If he wants to quit then fine. But how can you call him GOAT yet.

In fact Conor's second title shot and 2 belt accomplishment is the most earned one - and legit one in history

Conor was actually an active fighter coming off a big win just 2 fights removed from humiliating Aldo and wiping out FW.

Mcgregor wouldnt beat GSP unless the catchweight was below 165.....and even then.....its becomes a toss up that still leans in GSPs favor....
