But who makes the rest of the top 15 in both divisions? That's the problem in breaking it in half, it thins out the divisions.
Over 265lbs is just an invitation for fattys and low cardio fights, i thinm a better divisional gap should be this
206 to 245 heavyweight
246 to 280 superheavyweight
This makes much more sense and less liabilty for promotors for medical clearances and heart attacks mid fight. Ive thought for years the gap in hw divison of mma has hindering its growth as many 205ers are to worried about potentially facing a carwin/hunt or overeem/lesnar type they dont move up but the divison i put would allow easier transitions more fighters.
Just my two cents T.S
Plenty of fighters have fought at heavier than 265 pounds and to my knowledge none of them died (feel free to correct me I love to learn)If anyone wanted to do a SHW division, they should do it as its own org.
Having a bunch of deaths would be bad for any companies brand.

Trying to maintain that weight, no matter how it looks, will cause early death. Its a matter of when, not if.

You just mentioned 2 dead guys and one guy who is on his way out the door. Have some damn respect...Emanuel Yarborough VS Kamala VS Viscera
So you don't have any documented deaths of SHW MMA fighters? But you just told me if you try to have SHW fights guys would die left and right and the org would crumble. Its almost like you made that up.https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2413...t-conditions-after-careers-in-the-ring-ended/
Also prowrestling.
The common theme: self-induced obesity maintained for LONG periods of time.
I dont feel like looking this all up right now, but im certain someone has compiled a list of obese athletes who died young....its just more prevalent in Pro wrestling and bodybuilding because those are athletic endeavors where size is incentivized.....im sure the nfl likely has a problem with this too with lineman....

I just don't think guys who roid out of their mind like power lifters, body builders or pro wrestlers are the same thing as 265-300 lb MMA fighters who would be presumably tested for PEDs and not encouraged to abuse them as I'm sure body builders are and wrestlers were back in the day.I'm not sure if you're playing dumb, but i just showed you the clear connection between athletes inducing obesity and dying of heart attacks across a myriad of athletics.
The only reason this isn't a problem in mma right now is because its a young sport with zero incentive to compete at SHW.
If the incentive presented itself, the deaths would follow, as it has in EVERY other sport where roiding to that size is incentivized. Even strongmen and powerlifters have the problem.

If you cant see correlations here, its because you are intentionally ignoring them.....
Ok, HW is thin as hell but if some fighters were not obliged to make weight, they would be heavier.
I have in mind Mark Hunt, Struve, Ngannou, Overeem

What's the life expectancy for a guy that is 6'8 360 anyway? This guy could have had a heart attack if he were working in a factory just the same. Looks terribly unhealthy for any activityFound what youre looking for.

Nor should anyone else be.....
2+2=4
Incentivized obesity + money and fame = people willing to kill themselves for money and fame....

Money and fame? What SHW MMA fighters are rich or famous? If I were a huge athlete that wanted money or fame MMA is about the last place I would look.
