Yep, but the very accounts you've linked that suggest that defectors are lying when they claim things like the Norks drop people into vats of molten iron also confirm that the North Koreans use widespread hunger and starvation as a political weapon and essentially brainwash their people with propaganda and fear. I didnt say anything about the starvation links being true. You are saying that gaurdian wrote about starvation then that defectors are lying but thry wrote about starvation before stories about defectors lying emerged. Different writers also report different stories. Western media like many of you just believe whatever korean intelligence is putting out there.

And your post about North Korea being some economic powerhouse before they adopted Communism, is pitiful. They were under Japanese rule due to their proximity to Japan, in which the spoils of such industry were going to Japan. It had no benefit to the Korean peasants and subsistence farmers who lived in the north.
