Most punches in combat sports don't cause nearly the damage the punch Kermit Washington landed on Rudy T did. Can anyone explain how this punch nearly killed Rudy T?
A troll post this good needs to be answered.
Okay so based on this video:
We see Rudy T. springing towards Kermit, Kermit clearly isn't a good boxer because he throws so hard that his rear foot comes off the ground. Usually this doesn't make for a good punch. The interesting is that it's pretty much ALL Rudy that does it. He is simply running in so fast that he does most of the impact himself. If he had just been standing their minding his own business and Kermit threw, it probably wouldn't have done much.
Rudy makes a collision so massive just by the sheer velocity he moves at.
wilder agrees.Long arms punch harder.
Rudy T literally sprinted into a bareknuckle haymaker from a guy who is 6'8", 240lbs or whatever he was.
People forget too that you don't have to be a trained boxer to punch hard. The old adage is that punchers are born, not taught. You can have a guy with perfect punch technique and speed and he can't bust a grape, and a guy who never trained in his life with god-given power who can take your head off.
For all we know Kermit had some natural Wilder-like power.
TBF perfect punching technique garuantees power
You can maximise a guy's natural power with technique, but you're not going to make a big puncher with technique, that can't be taught. If it could, every boxer would be a knockout artist.
