How was Anderson Silva considered GOAT when he had no legit ground game?

He may not have had good wrestling, but his bjj was legit. Submitted Chael and Hendo.

He didnt have an unreal game but he was easily good enough off his back to not only survive but win from there. Only bigger DC gave him any real trouble on the ground and he was not only bigger but silva took the fight on short notice.

He was a top-notch striker, no doubt. But he always had known weakness. You knew he was in trouble when a good wrestler takes him down. I always believed GSP had legit arguments as GOAT more than Silva. Even Jon Jones has better arguments with how well-rounded his game is, whether stand up striking or wrestling/BJJ.

This. TS is an idiot. He submitted BJJ black Belts on the ground (Lutter), along with Olympic wrestlers (Henderson), and roided up mouthpieces known for their wrestling (Sonnen).

Quite simply, he did not care if people tried to take them down. For 2 reasons.

1) To close the distance for the TD, they had to get close enough for him to turn their lights out, which he usually did.

2) Once his opponent had him on the ground, they still had much to worry about.

Remind me. How many times in his career exactly was Anderson grounded into a decision loss by a superior wrestler? The number is 1. The 3rd fight in his career.
