Everytime they start a story, start working out.

And if you want to test a new guy's resolve, death by burpees.

Just totally ignore the guy, people like this only crave attention because of a lack of discipline. If you pay them no mind he will get depressed and eventually go away or if you are sure you're capable of doing it beat the shit out of him in front of everyone. Good luck :)

One of the fighters is sort of like that... Worst part is he is actually talented but he fully lets it go to his head... I think he can sense the tension between me and him and I fully admit he is better than me. Just annoying, but I always be polite because I'm like that lol. One day peoples true selves come out and that should be enough for you to be patient and they'll or do something to piss off the trainer or pro fighters...

Just ignore them and focus on your own shit. I do love guys that just start training and have some of the nicest gear in the gym or crazy loud Thai shorts.

For me, anybody who does combat sports because they want to "kick ass on the street" are posers. I don't care how good you are or how hard you train, if you're doing BJJ/MT/MMA not for the sport but because you want to be the most badass there is, then you're a loser with personality issues. That said, there are many more posers around you than you think.

Try to ignore the guy. Just remember, while you're an amateur fighter, this guy's going to have his ass handed to him by a nine year old - have you seen those kids in Thailand?

my old instructor had a great way of solving this, zero tolerance.

    'don't waste my fucking time!'
'you complain one more time, I'm going to take a shit on your face'
'this steroid guy came in and slammed me the other day, so i armbarred him and got a good pop'

genuine characters like that tend to disuade people from acting the prick, without even having to directly address anything.

    top bloke, loved training there.

I had a lot of problems with one of my feet as a teenager, which meant a lot of trainers - or running shoes or whatever you want to call them - weren't comfortable. My friends were skaters and/or into BMX; I wasn't, but I ended up giving skating shoes a try and they were more comfortable for my problem foot than a lot of others.

Just sayin' that that not everyone wearing them who isn't skating is a poser. A lot probably are, but still.
