How the hell is cain the first mexican heavyweight champion

Right, we get it. He was born in the US. But his dad is a Mexican immigrant. Is it really strange he would strongly identify with Mexico? It happens with every wave of immigrants.

Your nationality is your country of origin, simple as that. Cain was born and raised, lives works and pays taxes in America

That is one definition, but a poor one and a fairly new one.

Nation refers to birth not in context of country (geographically) or state (politically) but of ethnicity (racially or culturally). One's nation is the people like them ethnically, linguistically, and culturally. In fact, nation is the Latin word most often used to translate the Greek word ethnos.

In a immigrant rich society like that of the US, it is common for the first several generations of immigrants to identify strongly with the country they left as they assimilate into the new country.

Look how big he became PPV wise...

And Cain being a HW that never stops is another huge bonus!

He just needs to embrace the fact he was born in the US to appeal to a larger market.

I agree with you. Oscar did it well. Had family and friends that didn't like him because of that. They're idiots though.
