How much will the Space Force cost, and what’s it going to look like?

This 'bad boy' from NASA is due to go up next year. It will put SpaceX and Blue Origin to shame...

SLS rocket - 7,200,000 lbf of total thrust.

This is so we can defeat space ISIS

Space Force will cost whatever the Russians are charging to put people in space.

It will look something like this.

How are they going to shield the guys, and their balls in particular, from cosmic radiation? Even airline pilots and stewardesses get too much cosmic radiation.

Maybe the Space Force will be remote controlled robots.

What would a Space Force actually look like?

"In all likelihood, a Space Force would be stitched together from existing U.S. programs. At its center would be the Air Force Space Command, which has led the U.S.'s military space operations since 1982.

If you're picturing a rehash of 'Starship Troopers', brace yourself for disappointment. Day to day, the Space Force would probably monitor Earth's satellites and take the lead on launching and maintaining military satellites, the command's current beat.

Even now, the command employs more than 36,000 people and maintains military tech in space, such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite network and the mysterious X-37B space plane. The consulting firm Avascent says that the Air Force spends more than $7 billion per year on unclassified space systems alone. ...however, Space Force's exact structure would depend on the enacting laws, which aren't passing any time soon."

Who cares, we need American dominance in space

It will cost enough to justify privatizing social security and the VA, and ending SNAP and Medicaid... and it will look like delicious liberal tears.

So basically nothing new and no military bases or mega projects in space. So why even bother ?

Russia starts Star Wars first. USA concerned and puzzled

The behavior of the Russian inspector satellite, which was launched in the autumn of 2017, puzzles military officials in the United States. Yleem D.S. Poblete, assistant secretary of state for arms control, verification, and compliance, said that the behavior of the satellite in orbit raised a number of questions.

Space is the future frontier of the expansion of civilization. There's obviously going to be military operations just like navies were used in days of overseas colonization. Why not get a head start on being the leader? I dunno, it's a gut feeling but this is the kind of thing that seems dumb now but 20 years from now we'll be damn glad we did it, or feel really dumb and regret not doing it. It's same with AI research. Space and AI are both the obvious most important things in the future and whoever leads them will be the greatest civilization on Earth.

What say you Mr. McKinnon? And its all an excuse to steal more of our money and to control...
