How much space around a heavy bag?

Building my home gym and I can have a heavy bag finally.

How much space do I need to be comfortable for standup? I do mostly muay thai, so I don't want to be crowded for kicks... I weigh 175lbs, was thinking about a 100lb or slightly heavier heavy bag to work on movement and so I want room for it to swing.

The more space the better, in my opinion.

100 lb will be good.

Would need at least 5feet clearance.

You should be able to move in and out of striking range. Learning how to attack while advancing is important. Most guys aren't going to wait until you're within your own striking distance and in a comfortable position to strike before they defend/strike back, so training to strike solely in your own strike zone is counterproductive.
