If you had to quantify it, how much harder would you bet an average power kick is compared to a power punch? Is there data on it?

30%, 50%?

Discuss.

Surely that will depend on the individual and the type of punch/kick?

The word you're looking for is force.

Here's the GOAT demonstrating his prowess.

300% more power than a punch, but less accuracy.

Legs are 2x the size of your arms, its to going to have much more force behind it

If kicks were allowed in boxing, liver shots would not be done by hands

They usually point to Vitali Klitchko, belived to have an Iron chin in boxing, yet got KOed in Kickboxing. It was a spin kick but not a very good one

That depends on the fighter........some are 4x while others are 1.5x.......did they skip leg days......so many variables, some have really narrow hips, whilst others are almost child bearing.........

350..........maybe lower if they skipped leg days...

People shitting on boxing:(:(:(

Oh well, punches are faster and easier to throw in combinations, and are ten times harder to read.

it depends, you might be surprised. i remember years ago they did a study in ufc and shoguns kick came in as the strongest strike, rampages punch was not far behind. you don't punch with just your arm (hopefully) and some of the most powerful strikes ever recorded have been punches. george foreman punched a lot harder than most people could dream of kicking. i bet rampage punched a lot harder than he could kick.

faster as long as you are in range, but at the same time you are not allowed to clinch. If you can clinch, punching range becomes safer, and easier to read too.

But high level boxers slip in uppercuts in the clinch constantly.

You can launch a body with a kick (e.g. back kick), you can't with a punch. However you don't necessarily have to launch some body to hurt them.
