How many UFC divisions are so abysmally shallow you can get to a title shot with zero ground game?

UFC-220 showed us there are at least 2 UFC divisions based on talent pools with less depth than a kiddie pool.

    Any others?

He nearly ripped Anthony Hamilton's arm off and got out from underneath Curtis Blaydes (one of the most underrated HWs) several times. Just because Stipe broke him, it doesn't mean he's bad on the ground.

Hopefully he fights again soon and murders someone, so people can finally give Stipe his due.

In the WMMA and flyweight you only need a 1 fight win streak after winning some random prelim fight to get a title shot.

HW has just got worse and worse and worse. Dan Severn at 55 years old would still beat many of them, I'm not saying Stipe and Cain and guys like that.. but Dan could beat guys like Walt Harris and Chase Sherman lol, he would take them down easily and they would never be able to stop it, would probably tap them out rather easily .

LHW is so bad, its down the the bare bones, it used to be the best division back 10 years ago. Volkan would never have made it to UFC back in 2005, but he could have been one of the jobbers that were brought into Pride to have a random fight with Hidehiko Yoshida and then never be seen again

NGannou ground game isn't great but it was cardio that was really problem. He was so gassed by round 2 that I could have taken him down ... and I've never even wrestled.

I agree on some divisions being shallow but disagree with people claiming NGannou has zero ground game or takedown defence. You need to watch his previous fights.

One thing I wonder is with the amount of people in the MMA world these days, why is it that some of these divisions are so shallow. They need to start recruiting some more talent.

That guy with "0 groundgame" would break in half any fighter from any class below him. They are all being protected from the Predator.

Other divisions are handicapped to set a ceiling on physical ability. So, that will never happen. You will never get a guy so deficient on one area skill-wise.

Heavyweight exists to find the best fighter in the world. The baddest man on the planet.

Sometimes the baddest man on the planet or the second baddest man is the baddest because he's the biggest and the strongest.

MW isn’t much better. The top contender there is 1-1 in the last year and a half and is getting a title shot. I’ll talk shit on Rockhold, but looking at the rankings that’s pretty crazy that that is the best they have.
