How many here for real actually watched the whole Stipe vs Ngannou

Many ppl can view the same incident. Even a short one. And, each person have a different story about what they saw. And, that’s completely normal. That’s just the way it is.

I don’t think I’ve seen any true Stipe fans, upset with the fight. I personally, didn’t know that Ngannou had a good chin on him. If he didn’t he would have been KOd in the first round. Just as I predicted.

I learned a few things about Ngannou in that fight. Most of them bad.

A fair amount of ppl on Ngannou’s hype train have seen the truth. They realize they got conned, and have eaten their crow.

And, some on the hype of train have just doubled down by shitting on Stipe’s gameplan. Monumental stupidity, but not everyone can be a man, and admit they were wrong.

But, facts are facts here. Ngannou gassed bad, and got embarrassed for opening his yap. If you’re going to talk the talk. You better walk the walk.

The time of control and strike differential tell the gist of what happened, and what mattered the most. Fuck the rest. It was about a dominant performance as you will ever see. Props to Ngannou for making it to the final horn.

If someone thinks it was boring. Too fuckin bad. I was on the edge of my seat the whole fight.

Ngannou

pros
-has big big power
-very big heavyweight
-very good physique
-is very durable, good chin (hight health)
-is very fast for a big heavyweight
-strong swing shots

cons
-he has strong swing shots but he lacks on technical boxing like technical jabs, straight rights etc.
-lacks on fight IQ
-not that technical overall
-doesnt have many tools
-can gas if he isnt successfull in the first round
-cant wrestle
-not a good grappler
-needs to set up a certain space to his opponent over and over again

So who here actually watched the damn thing in its entirety on PPV or streaming or live?

I've seen so many threads since Sunday morning that had so many varying inconsistencies about how the match went...." lay and pray" "a complete shot to shit slashed and burned wrestlefuck" "20 minutes of stipe laying on Francis"

Can we get some concise and cohesive telling of this match
Like a consensus agreement of what happened

If you're willing to read this wall of text...this is my recollection of the match...although it might be somewhat jumbled

Cause I feel like I'm going crazy,
knowing what I saw then having a guy on here tell me otherwise

Round 1: whole round of standup with a bit of clinching/stalling....ngannou unloads repeatedly while stipe bobs and weaves then resets...ngannou eats a heavy overhand right that obviously got his attention....at the end of the round stipe eats a heavy uppercut that gets his attention then he got the takedown at the bell...I think there was another takedown earlier in the round

Round 2: stipe still doing head mooment....goes for a takedown after getting uppercutted and gets ngannou trapped between himself and the cage on his knees...Stipe hits him with knees and some punches....goes for a RNC (?) Right near the bell

Round 3: stipe goes for a takedown and they end up in the exact same position as round 2 (francis trapped against the cage kneeling) but ngannou powers up to his feet and pushes stipe away then hits him with a heavy heavy right that makes stipe go for the double Leg and drives him down hard to the mat....Stipe gets in francis half guard and rains down hard rights (legit thought he was close to stopping ngannou here)
But ngannou locks up stipe's arms before could go anything further and they both take a rest before herb called for action right near the bell

Round 4:ngannou pushes stipe into the cage before stipe double legs ngannou into the mat...ngannou attempts a heel hook?...Stipe stands up to get out then he dives right back into franc's guard
now this is where I remember any "laying on Francis" starting as Ngannou tries to get up stipe was content laying over his back for a minute before herb called for action...Stipe obliges and repeatedly hits ngannou in the head and body while ngannou slumps

Round 5: ugly ugly round....Stipe drives ngannou into the cage...stalls enough that herb calls for action...ngannou goes for a lame headlock?...Stipe easily gets out and they mostly circle each other while stipe avoids the few punches ngannou throw...flying knee from ngannou that stipe literally "catches" before he runs ngannou into the cage til the bell

Sorry if there's not an exact continuity to how I'm describing it since I'm just going from memory...but all that shit happened right???? Or am I the crazy one
<{hughesimpress}>
Decided I had better things to do and stop watching half way through the 4th

I loved the entire fight!
Miocic masterclass!
It was a thing of beauty.......

Two times so far. Probably gonna watch it once more when I feel like it.

I firmly believe that you cannot make a proper analysis on a fight with just one watch, not even when it's Conor vs Aldo type of a quick KO. There's a limit to our brain's capacity to observe things, and in a sport like MMA where there are so many little factors that can make a massive impact on the outcome, it's especially limited.

For example, a thing that I've noticed about myself when watching fights is that I cannot focus on both fighters at the same time even if I wanted to, and instead focus on one fighter at a time and switch to the other when the momentum shifts. However, see the fight more than once and you can analyse things from a completely different perspective because you know what's going to happen, and can focus on the events that lead to the significant parts instead of being caught off-guard and hyped by them.

I havent but i also havent posted much about it.

Apart from, told you so... Ngannou hype train i did not understand. I would have been much more excited if Derrick Lewis was fighting Stipe. Hes actually got a great scramble and could potentially put up a fight
I did. Several times already.
Really impressed.
Masterful performance bell to bell by champion.
What impressed me even more except from what was already said is Stipe takedowns. The variety of them and their timing. Awesome.
Fantastic fight! It really was man, only noobs or Ngannou nut huggers would think otherwise..

I didn't. As soon as the Nigerian blew his load in the opening 2 mins and it became clear that stipes gameplan was to lay n pray his way to a decision I stopped watching

this is BS

He beat Francis at his own game rounds 1-3 with a takedown or two thrown in a guarantee the round, then when it was 3 rounds up to Stipe, he didn't take any chances and wrestlefucked him for 4-5, "5 rounds of lay and pray" is utter utter BS,

I did watch online. Also rewatch 2 times all fight, and additionaly first and second rounds 3 or 4 times.
1,2 rounds was good. And I really impressed by Stipe performance, Ngannu power and how good chins have both guys. After 3 round Stipe tired to, and fight was slower, but anyway online it is not looks bad or boring because any punch by both guy could end fight.

I thought the fight was decent. Not exactly what I expected but not as bad as some people make it out to be. I was surprised about all the hate that ngannou got after the fight. Seems like a lot of people were mad because they bought into the ufc hype and expected ngannou to KO stipe with the first punch thrown..

Good breakdown. I was pulling for Francis but he got dominated. Only thing that impressed me was his chin. His ground game and stamina are shit and Stipe exposed it with excellent game planning. Stipe also beat him standing but was wise to see it to where he's even more dominate the ground. PPL saying stipe gassed is about all they got but controlling a 270 lb man aint easy and at the end of the day it's who gassed more.

Honestly I stopped watching after the third round I think

The first round was one of the most exiting rounds in MMA I’ve watched in some time, when factoring the HW belt into the equation.

The rest of the fight was still exiting for me to watch live , because there was never a point where either fighter could pull a finish out of thin air... but watching it again.. rounds 2-4 are not so exiting.

Overall I’d still give it an 8 because Stipe came prepared and completely shut down somebody who’d been flatlining guys all the way to the top.

Missed out a minute of the last round getting a drink.

Wasn't worth watching past round 3. Round 2 was a struggle, as Frank struggled to stay upright.

First round mayhem on the feet with Stipe dodging bullets and getting a TD, then another, and landing the cleaner shots. Frank doesn't know how to pace himself.

2nd round Ngannou throws stationary arm punches, adrenaline dump as Cruz pointed out. Stipe low kicks him without being in big danger.

3rd round - it's over. Stipe's choice whether or not he wants to go for a choke or hold the big fella down for safe points.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Love to see Stipe just staying heavy on him. A finish would have been great but it was still enjoyable. Specially with Ngannnou talking shit about Trump the week of the fight.

MAGA

I watched it all. It wasn’t exactly “ LnP but it was incredibly boring and a bit puzzling how Stipe couldn’t finish
