How long can the DNA testing companies stay in business?

There has to be a point where they run out of customers. The people who were anxious to have it done did it some time ago. The people who were slightly curious waited a little longer but did it already. Then there are people who receive the test kit as a gift and have had it done. It seems that the ones who are left are people like me who really don't care and the people who are dead set against giving up their DNA. If your parents had it done, there isn't much need for their children to use the service.

It certainly seems that their income stream would die off eventually.

Still plenty of white people hoping for a 1% reason to claim oppression bro.

As long as the government needs to keep gaining DNA info on the whole world then they'll stay in business

You know how credit card bureaus sell all your personal info? The DNA companies will probably sell your DNA info to rich dudes who need organ transplants and there might be an accident for the DNA customers.

They can

Compete with Accuracy
Compete with results ( genetic disease predisposition as well as genetic history ( ancestry) )
Compete with Price
Compete with Community ( family connections made through results )

This technology won't stop making money for a very long time.

Better hope some Peter Popoff or Bernie Madoff motherfuckers don't get liver failure if you're the same 3.23% Subsaharan Germanic Cave Inuit as them.

Never really cared much, so I haven't done it and don't plan to. With Alexa, Ez pass, DNA testing, GPS, facebook, I'm not sure how many more ways a person could shell out money to make more information about yourself available. You got the milf porn I've searched for, just be happy with that and stop demanding more information.

I imagine the DNA testing companies will be around for a long time. They are coming out with updates on new findings that can be had for a price. The two main DNA firms (I believe) too are more than simply DNA testing. They both also work with genealogy and provide health care guidance. I'm personally not much of a follower of the DNA health findings but it does seem to be popular with many.

its a scam, the way people believe this bullshit always amazes me

Everyone needs to find out if their love for salty snacks is genetic

Maybe it's not gonna work in every country but I think I've read that in Bashkiria (it's in Russia) genetic tests are gonna be free/payed by government. If I remember it right it's because of genetic diseases. And I think it was the same article that mentions that there is problems with that stuff because of inbreeding (not only among people of Caucasus, ethnically Russians, maybe in certain regions, have a few genetic diseases too because of inbreeding).

If they can afford to do that, it's a great idea.

A country with free healthcare like canada should do it as well. If they can be ready for genetic diseases and other health problems before they surface, it'll be cheaper than treating them in the later stages and save money in the long run.

those dna companies sell customer information

I have a hard time paying $100 to look at a page of DNA results. I also heard that percentage based DNA is a scam, and that measuring genetics with percentage is not accurate.

I think the customer base is essentially 1/34555 something White Americans, right?

Eventually that pool will have been exploited I think.
