I've recently finished Generation Kill. It was pretty good. I'd probably give it an 8.7/10 Looked great on Blu Ray too. From what I hear it was a true story and they even had two of the real people play themselves on the mini series. (Rudy and the reporter)
So now I'm itching for another good war mini series. How does Band of Brothers compare? What about The Pacific?
I've also heard that Das Boot was pretty well done. But idk if I'd enjoy the German perspective.
Random trivia but the first episode came out 2 days before the Sept 11th attacks.

Yeah it sank the whole show at the time. The premiere did crazy ratings, it was gigantic... then 9/11 happened. And the show's viewership instantly died on the vine. No one wanted to watch war shit right after / during that. It still did great with critics & awards at the end of the year, and later had a huge resurgence on DVD, but the original airings got swept under the rug, and promotion stopped. Thanks Osama.
