-East German youth champion
-East German heavyweight champion
-Junior European champion at light-heavyweight
-Bronze medallist at the amateur world championships in Moscow, where he loss to future amateur ATG Felix Savon.
-Silver medallist at the European championships
-Became the undisputed unified German heavyweight champion after the fall of the Berlin wall at age 24.

Had back to back title fights that include:
-going toe to toe with the dangerous George Foreman (of George Foreman Grill fame) and losing a controversial decision.
-dominating and exposing South African powerhouse Frans Botha (while Botha was doping).
-out-gunning the Southpaw heavyweight kingpin Michael Moorer only to lose by another close decision.

One of the premier elite European heavyweights of the 90s, holding his own against the likes of:
Henry Akinwande, Bonecrusher Smith, Jose Ribalta, Kevin McBride, Julius Francis, Wladimir Klitschko and Brian Minto.

Where do guys rate Axel Schulz's greatness?

He was not Sven Ottke...and I am Sven's biggest American fan! He was not a KO artist but a masterful boxer and don't believe that Calzaghe wasn't afraid of fighting him and the judges in Germany.
Here are his best KO's tho...also Henry Maske was a better German fighter too.

Top 10 all time great. Easy.

Stroker is like that thoughtful uncle who'd mail you a $5 bill every once and awhile on your birthday: it's not expected but it's always appreciated.

His first "How great was" thread in almost 3 years

Great shifting.
