This is a pretty good argument against unions. All this laziness isn't free, someone is paying for it be it customers, taxpayers or society as a whole.

I went from like 12hr paying child support\medical and was struggling. I think I had $50 to play with every 2 weeks after buying my weed. Now I make over double that and I easily make it paycheck to paycheck. I set aside $200 every 2 weeks for me to play with and still have money going into my savings and now I own a house.

I don't have to worry about bills but the reason for that is I choose to worry about bills. Don't ever get comfortable.

I know a ton of people that have lived in expensive cities, act like they love to live there even they are broke, and then talk about how much happier they are when they move from those expensive cities. There is no point in living in a place that has "so much to do" when you don't have the time or money to do it.

I've never lived paycheck to paycheck as an adult. I grew up poor and learned from that. It's a great feeling

sometimes we have no choice, my home value skyrocketed to 800K+ even though I bought it for less than 500K. I'm nearly done paying it too, but COL is ridiculous in some places.

ratio is totally skewed as of today, I recall a good ratio being home prices 3x yearly income price. Have no idea how these folks pay it off. I know some teachers that bought a 700K home.... how the f_ck do they even pay for it? oh and 0 down due to military.

yes, i remember finally getting out of debt. it's one of the greatest feelings around. when you're able to cash the majority of your paycheck into your personal account, it really rewarding. and it's nice knowing that you can buy all kinds of stuff and spoil yourself from time to time.

I do fine, but I live in the ghetto ass cuts

    I pay 675 a month for a relatively large 3 bdrm, 2 bath house

Granted the power bill in the summer is insane due to the extreme Mojave Desert heat

Nice thing about not living check to check is leverage at work.
Being able to live the same exact lifestyle for years without any income is great leverage when it comes to getting what i want at work.

Just paid off all our debt and mortgage, looking to upscale soon. Thinking about developing a job doing a craft, but I'm able to take my time figuring it all out. Maybe I'll try editing.

It's pretty relaxed, I still have to work in the grand scheme of things but I can just do what interests me without worrying about how much it pays.

Yeah... The real estate bubble in Denver is puzzling. I don't think wages have increase exponentially, but housing prices have.

In the end, I moved to Texas because there was so much more work there and I was able to make significantly more money while housing prices are generally extremely reasonable.

I'm able to live more comfortably here than the people I know back home. My buddy is constantly complaining about money and the all the dipshits who moved there.

I don't really miss Colorado that much. I love living on the coast here and I get more than my fill of the mountains visiting family and friends back home. The plane tickets between Denver/Houston are extremely reasonable. I'm outside a lot for work here, so I don't miss the winters at all. Sure, it's a sauna here from June to September, but the winters are fucking great. Skiing has gotten old for me, been doing it since I was about 3 years old and I can't stand how crowded the mountains are. I-70 has become a parking lot on the weekends.

I can't even imagine what my house would cost in Denver. It's 5 bedrooms, 3,000SF with a pool.... Maybe $500K-$600K? Not sure. I paid $170K for it in 2005 for it and the current appraisals are around $230K I think.

Not sure why I'm shitting on Denver. I shouldn't, it's a great city, I guess I'm bummed out because what's happened to it over the last 20 years.
