It was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Haven't seen it in a long time though and I don't hear it talked about much considering it's the sequel to the goat action/sci-fi movie. Does it hold up today? What are your thoughts? It's still great in my book but I'm hella bias. Interested to hear your opinions. Discuss

Where's @Zer? Pretty sure he likes it.

I haven't seen it since about the time it came out but I remember thinking it was just weird.

Definitely very different from the first film.
 
I loved it as much as the first film.
 
Predator might be my favorite action film.

Predator 2 is a pretty awesome sequel.

"He's the last man in the world you want to fuck with. "
 
it's a film totally overshadowed by the first, but on it's own is a fairly solid flick.

it's violent with that twinge of creepy dystopia, and has a solid cast to back it up.

the end is a little silly, but hey, no less silly than the first and schwarzenegger surviving a nuclear blast by hiding under a fuckin stump. so whatever.

If you didn't read the comics or underatand the ending this is worth a watch
 
Excellent movie. I like it more than the first one. First one is definitely better, but I like the second one more.
 
Paxton deserves special note for playing a fun character that was also written as effective and not just comedy relief.
 
It is a decent sequel. Like Conan the Destroyer, it doesn't really hurt anything. And given what has followed in the Predator "cinematic universe" it looks pretty damn good in retrospect.
 
I jacked off to the sex scene a few times back in the day (porn was hard to come by)

Honestly it's not near the first one.. I liked Glover and Bussey

But the first film had an AMAZING cast/team of badasses.. who were all memorable.. can't say the same for the second movie. I also preferred the jungle setting..

Not to say Predator 2 wasn't good though.. it was.. The last decent Movie in the series

The new cast look absolutely pathetic.. Will not watch unless it gets crazy good reviews

Hard to say.
Alien was brilliant at building tension. It knew to keep the alien, a guy in a not very great costume, in shadow for the most part. The chest burster scene, made even better because the actors didn't know what was going to happen, is fantastic. And we really hadn't ever seen anything like it.

Aliens was another ensemble cast but more effective and memorable. The pacing barely lets up once we get to LV-426 (?)
and the kills on both sides are great.

quality action movie, still stands up even today.
