getting the easiest fights? GSP had to take a break because he was looking at one monster after another. After Hendricks, it was going to be Hendricks rematch, after that Robbie Lawler, after that Tyron Woodley. Basically, concussion after concussion was his immediate future in the UFC. LOL

Aldo lost the passion to fight, because he was looking at one monster after the other. Jon Jones became the GOAT fighting one monster after the next.

Today, champions are fighting old about to retire challengers, fighters from lower weight classes that haven't fought in years, going to different sports where they won't lose face even if they lose and etc.

Tyron Woodley is the only guy looking at one monster after the other. Being the UFC champion is becoming the easiest spot on the promotion.

    LOL

It's because of a small, yet talkative Irish man.

Oh, and also because of worst management ever.

It's because WME don't care about the sport. They want to make their money back.

It's a company ran by scumbags so this isn't surprise.

Maybe I am exaggerating a little bit, but let us be honest, it looks like the era of a champion beating consensus number one contenders on 5 or more winning streaks is coming to an end.

We are entering the era of the "stock market." These days, it seems like who ever has the highest "stock" is the one the champion wants to call out.

This. Besides Bisping ducking contenders and Conor fucking off. Everyone else is fighting top guys.

Edit: read TS response above. People angling for money fights is a pisser. Especially champs with no title defenses

You lost all credibility when you claimed "GSP had to take a break because he was looking at one monster after another." And that "Aldo lost the passion to fight because he was looking at one monster after the other." Either you have no idea what you're talking about or you're just a troll.

As for your overall point, it certainly has become a problem. In my mind, this whole "money fight" era started when the UFC jumped the shark and brought Brock in. At that point, they realized that the casual fan was far more important to generating revenue than hardcore fans. That helped lead to the Ronda phenomenon, which led directly to the Conor madness.

Money fights have been a part of boxing for a very long time. Conor saw what guys like Floyd did in boxing, and he brought to MMA. Now it's the fashionable thing to do.

What's up with you Sherdoggers often disagreeing, but seldom presenting a counter argument.

What is the point of that? If you want to have a conversation, you need to tell the people you are addressing why you agree or disagree. If you can't or won't do that, then just avoid the conversation all together.

    LOL

ummm it's 2017, the era of equality--please refrain from using such neanderthal-esque, gender-specific terms like "lost their balls" b/c it excludes one of the TWO genders from relating to your bs

Instead say "balls/ovaries," or better yet say "guts," or better yet say nothing if you have nothing nice to say, sir/ma'am

just thought u'd like to get educated. no need to thank me

P.S.: it's kind of ironic that i'm telling you about this stuff and you mentioned wmma in your troll post, iddn't it? tee-hee

P.P.S.: You know, technically speaking it's okay to just say "balls" because females have balls, too. Ovaries are essentially the exact same thing as testes, they just make eggs instead of sperm. They even look almost exactly alike. The problem though, is people are retarded. You could never educate enough people quickly enough to know this, so whenever you say "balls" ppl will still assume you mean a male's pair and not both gender's.

What a sad state of affairs. Will we ever achieve true equality? One can only hope. #NeverGiveUp

There's no need to put together a counter argument for the proposition that "GSP had to take a break because he was looking at one monster after another." That's just complete nonsense with no foundation in reality. Legitimate points deserve counter arguments and debate. You didn't make a legitimate point. You invented an opinion, with no factual basis, and presented it as a factual statement. Like I said, you lose all credibility with that kind of behavior.

I am just going by GSP's own admission. He sees aliens and misses blocks of time, so I guess you may be right, my opinion based on GSP interviews may not be founded on reality, because GSP was flying over the cuckoo's nest at the time of his retirement. LOL
