this looks more serious as I hear doesn't go away and prejudicates heavy lifting activity..
what do you know about this?

Some strains of Hep C are curable.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it isn't too serious.

Probably something best to discuss with your doctor. Good luck and stay strong.

Well as was already stated some strains of Hep. C are curable, but if you have one that isn't you'll never be able to pass a blood test for serious competition. The treatments should allow you to keep your exercise regimen where it is, but it'll probably take a few months to really be back on par.

Perhaps a doctor could better assist you than a forum on the matter....:icon_neut

well that's much more conforting that I thought.. thank you

Be careful, dude. It's dangerous out there. I know sex education sucks in the US, so maybe this will help you out:

Hopefully it is just a false positive antibody test due to the mono., but I am sure your dr. mentioned that they will be doing a viral load to confirm the presence of HCV. Best of luck man. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be chronic HCV.

How many unsuspecting men have you given this to?

Sorry to hear that.

1. Don't spread it (sexually or via blood).
2. Take care of your liver.
3. It is curable... But rarely so.
4. Consult a doctor.

I bet he is wishing he wrapped up and never slept with that chick now.

Talk to your doctor for sure. And you may have to do some research on your own -- I'm not sure how many docs, even liver specialists, know what the potential risks/benefits of heavy lifting are for a patient with Hep C.

This may be a situation where it's better overall to pursue a less-demanding strength training regimen.

Top priority -- take care of your liver.

A good friend of mine died recently. He was a longtime Hep C survivor, and he drank like a fish. I suspect that he died of hep C complications, though I don't know that for a fact. In any event, I wish he were still here.

Good luck.:D

Flak, sorry to hear about your friend but that last little tidbit is probably not want TS wants to hear right now.

Well it is better to no the truth when it is about somethink serious.

This is true. At least now you can treat it and monitor it. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be chronic hepatitis though.

I'm sure it's not.

But I wish my friend had taken his own situation more seriously, and now I'm trying to encourage TS to avoid making the same mistake.

This is a little speculative, but ive heard heavy ATG backsquats can cure cancer, aids and gyno. Its worth a try.

Well, hopefully it's the curable kind.

Dude, I think this is karma from sleeping with trannies.
