GSP has great striking because he can throw a one two punch all fight long.

Maybe it is a jab and kick, or maybe a jab and body shot, but it is always throwing a one two that made him outstrike everyone else. So many fights go to where one guy is just throwing one shot at a time. Conor vs Khabib is the most recent. The two shot combo seems minor, but it is huge in winning a fight even if they aren't power shots. It just seems like that isn't a thing for mma fighters to learn.

Also because his wrestling sets up his striking.

When you're consistently worried about being dumped on your back, you are not as alert about defending strikes.

GSP also has a great reach for a 5'10" dude.

I would say GSP striking was good more so than great.

His take down threat is really what made is striking good. He obviously had worse striking than Hendricks, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Very good? You bet. Great? Nah.

Also because he's been training striking for like 20 yrs.

And has the threat of the TD.

But he does throw 1-2s. Or double jabs.

it's not just the takedown threat that made his striking better though. it was the fact that his strikes all looked like takedowns.

his ability to disguise his strikes and takedowns by making them look like each other is unique in my opinion.

Theres safety in throwing a single shot or a 1,2 the way GSP does, hes always at range and never puts himself in the pocket in eat a counter. Its a smart low lisk style but rarely leads to a finish

Flashier highlight reel but nowhere near the resume

Also Anderson lost to the same fighter twice, there's something to be said about learning from your mistake gsp avenger all his losses

Besides he got caught with peds. I'm not against peds just the stupidity to get caught.
