When Demetrious Johnson and Ray borg fight eachother at UFC 215, we will probably witness the best combo of corner advice from two fighters camps ever.

Based on what you've seen from these coaches, who do you prefer? Jackson or Hume?

I don't get the media fawning over Jackson. Sure, he's one of the smartest MMA minds out there, and he takes great talent and makes it better, same as every other coach.

But even if he's a better coach than Hume, the odds of Borg beating MM are slim for a reason.

In the corner it seems like Jackson is more of a motivational speaker. He says a lot of obvious things but he has the ability to calm the fighter down and make him/her focus.

    Hume gives more detailed coaching.

I like the Jackson team more. Jackson, Wink, Gibson, Izzy would be my go to if I wasn't so fat, lazy and useless.

Each fighter needs specific things, one coach may be great for one fighter, and crap for the other.
You have to find what works for you.

Matt Hume. I do agree they are two of the best, but I feel like Jackson/Wink train their better fighters to be safe and protect the win whereas Hume has his guys trying to finish all fight.

He didn't ask if everyone should switch teams, he asked which coach we prefer. I think he is open to seeing different answers and reasons.

If Hume replaced Jackson as head trainer of that gym it would only up the gym imo

I understand what you are saying, but that is unclear from the title of this thread.
I'm adding an idea that I believe is important to consider.
If the question is, "who do you prefer, from the point of view of you imagining yourself as a fighter".
Then the question is, which coach do you think would be best for you.
But if you are wondering, which of the coach's fighters do you find more exciting, then, that may not be due to the coach, but due to the types of fighters that are best served by each coach.
Fighters evolve, so who is best at this stage, may not be the best at a later stage.
Also, coaches are limited. Once they have taught all you can learn from them, you may have to move on.

Im from the same system as Mike Winklejon and have mad respect for what he is teaching down there in New Mexico

But after doing catch-wrestling for the last 10yrs I'd pick Matt Hume by far.....

He would wreck Jack or Wink

At first read, I thought if the 2 fought (which would be hume-via massacre)

As far as (head) coaching....still Hume but close

I'm sure Edmond did too. Now that his meal ticket is retired, let's see if any semi-talented fighters come out of his gym.

My point about Jackson is that while he may be a talented coach, Jon Jones would be a world champion in any gym he fights out of. Yes, they've produced multiple champions, and had other fighters (Diego, Cowboy Cerrone) come up short. Really not much different than Black House, AKA, ATT, etc.

This is an extremely thought out intellectually actuate response that would have most people rolling their eyes at you.
You are correct in everything you said, but you are also zapping all the fun out of the idea. Damn near nobody that responded is getting ready to log into Expedia and buy a ticket to either New Mexico or Washington State to start a career in MMA.
Sometimes (this being one of them) it's more fun to dumb it down and just play along than prove you are the smartest guy in the room especially if you don't know for sure that everyone else isn't doing the same.
See some of us can be intellectual as well, but I'm sure this particular post has been one of the two most exhausting (yours that I'm responding to being the other) that they've read.

You already have Dodson who is a much better fighter from Borg with Greg in his corner and couldn't to shit to stop DJ with Hume.He will not make Borg a winner no matter what.

I think we're safe, I think most people avoid anything longer than a line or two.
I don't come here for intellectual stimulation, obviously, or I'd be the dumbest guy here, but if someone takes the time to ask for clarification, I'll respond.
