Ive just started grappling a bit again after a long break from a back injury.

The thing is that instead of going back to my old gym me and a friend have started to have nogi classes at a place we rent.

Atm its mostly our friends so its not super serious yet.

I have a been a purple belt for a few years and have a good understanding of jiu jitsu with and without the gi.

Before i got injured 3 years ago i was close to getting my brown belt but i could never put in the mat time cause i got hurt all the time.

My friend im doing this with is an ex mma fighter who has fought alot of pro fights and has a few fights in the ufc.

I think were gonna compliment each other well since we bring very different skillsets into this project.

Now i had my first class last week and felt good overall, but i noticed when i showed some of my basic stuff that ive lost alot of details from not training at all in over a year.

Also alot of my details comes from specifiv gi grips so i had to improvise some solutions when i got specific questions.

I am especially looking for a half guard series but all basic stuff is good.

Also i would prefer if the video is with an american since alot of details can get fuzzy with that brazilian accent

I have Nogi Library by Rob Kahn and Matt Arroyo and I like it. There is a lot of information in that series that can help you sure up your basics.

I think that Pablo Popovitch NoGi Exposed is my favorite nogi instructional when it comes to learning how to operate in and through the guard.

Yeah ive seen some of pablos stuff on youtube.

He is the word basic, very solid foundation and no flashy stuff.

I used to do alot of rolling up on my shoulders stuff throwing up triangles from weird angles.

But now with my back i need to master a more boring game since i cant be bending my spine like i used to.

I haven't seen no gi exposed, but his passing dvd series is excellent.

Completely agree, watched it maybe 6 months into starting Bjj/no gi mma etc and still use passes and concepts from it now

Robson Moura's super no gi, for side control and S mount stuff.

Im watching pablos stuff and its a good start. For being such a powerhouse he sure has good subtle details.

I really notice how much nogi basics i lack when watching someone go through grips and leverage details without the gi.

Does this instructional go over strategy or just submissions?

MGinaction ! $25 for a month. I think he offers a free month? If not, I'll try to remember my promotion code.

Also, the Mendes Bros offer a "free" month. It's a gi site, yet your find good half guard no-gi stuff too.

Ryan Hall's Deep Half Guard covers half guard. It's a Gi set, yet you can apply it to no-gi. His disc #3 in that set is the single best DVD disc I've watched!

He's the game, back step from top, twist sweep from bottom. Done!
