Bloodline star Kyle Chandler has joined the Legendary and Warner Bros.' Godzilla sequel.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown also is attached to Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which is part of the Legendary and Warner Bros. cinematic universe. It is slated for release on March 22, 2019.

Michael Dougherty is directing from a script by Dougherty and Zach Shields.

Plot details are being kept locked on a South Pacific island but Chandler will play a scientist and father of Brown's character. The role makes him ostensibly the hero of the movie.

Chandler, who won an Emmy award and received multiple nominations for his role as Coach Eric Taylor on Friday Night Lights, currently stars in Netflix’s Bloodline. He was most recently seen in Manchester By the Sea with Casey Affleck.

Chandler was fielding multiple offers for feature gigs but opted for the Godzilla sequel, nabbing a seven figure deal in the process, according to sources.

I guess Kyle won't be playing Cable anymore.

Legendary needs to buy up the American rights to Gamera and give the fans what they've always really wanted.

Wouldn't that be some shit?
They need to make a movie of that proof of concept trailer from 2015. That shit was incredible

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is now a family affair. Vera Farmiga will play the onscreen mother of Millie Bobby Brown in the Godzilla sequel, with daddy duty having gone to Kyle Chandler

Michael Dougherty (Krampus) is directing from a script he wrote with Zach Shields. The Legendary and Warner Bros. feature is the follow-up to Gareth Edwards' 2014 reboot, which earned $529.1 million worldwide.

Plot details are being kept secret but Chandler, who has already starred in creature features Super 8 and King Kong, is the hero of the piece, playing a scientist. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is slated for release on March 22, 2019.

Farmiga can currently be seen in the fifth and final season of A&E's Bates Motel. The Oscar-nominated actress, who last year reprised her role of paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren for the horror hit The Conjuring 2, will soon be seen opposite Liam Neeson in Lionsgate's action thriller, The Commuter.

Watch the movie where she plays the religious woman who speaks in tongues. Or Bates Motel.

It will cure you of that notion.

Besides, she's mine.

I've been attracted to her since Up in the Air and the Departed

Still don't see how it's going to work?

Even the new Kong is dwarfed by Godzilla, not to mention they should have vastly different power levels even if they were similar in size. Obviously they won't have one overwhelm the other, so I'm expecting some plot BS that will significantly weaken Godzilla, kinda like how MCU nuked Thor and made him for all intents and purposes street level to the point that even Captain America could hang with him for a bit. Ridiculous.

Da fuq is she doing in Godzilla? she does weird movies, she's still too young to be milfy, but not quite young enough

if that's an issue for you, she has a younger sister also in tv, Taissa
