ass is my operative term for anything that tastes unpleasant. chalky, definitely. almost slightly bitter when i mix it with oj. in any case, i just take BCAAs twice: once in a shaker sipped throughout the day, and once post training.

So you believe bcaas work or is it a placebo, i havent taken a bcaa in ages, i used to use them thinking they helped but it wasnt worth it. Just spent money on some organic whey and real foods and saw more solid gains without the diarreah.

i was looking for something that would help with recovery; and saw that xtend contains 2500mg of glutamine per serving:

    • 7000 mg of BCAAs in a research-proven ratio
    • 3500 mg of Leucine
    • 2500 mg of Glutamine
    • 1000 mg of Citrulline Malate
    • 1171 mg of Electrolytes
    • 640 mcg of Vitamin B6
    • And, zero Carbohydrates or Sugar

gave it a try, placebo or not, i felt better. but no doubt the extra hydration certainly helped.

Be careful of tsking it long term it could give you colitis which is incurable, the intestines and colon become inflammed.

I heard gatorade irritates the stomach during inflammation flareups.

Don't take it at all. Complete waste of money.
Eat enough protein and you're good.

    Also, 3.2 grams of beta-alanine.

This was the optimal studied dosage OSU wrestlers were given and retained the most lean muscle while cutting. Anything over 3.2 grams in a 170-210 man is just diminishing returns.

If you want it and can buy it, fuck everyone who says it's for marathon runners and shit, if you do heavy cardio it's enough. I use scitec nutrition mega glutamine and take two pills before training, sometimes after (but not always) and sometimes before sleep. I always take twice on training days. It is proven that taking glutamine before sleep can increase production of your HGH and relax muscles for the night.

This here is about as minimally processed you can get with a whey powder
    https://www.wildfoods.co/shop/wild-whey-grass-fed-protein

It says this whey is never subject to irradiation, micro-filtration, hydrolization, ion-exchange or acid-treatment, and that independent lab testing supports their processing method because it helps maintain the highest levels of immunoglobulins, lactoferrin and serum albumin, which are the three most fragile components in whey sensitive to over processing.
