It looks like they're really taking this seriously, although it seems to have most names changed.
    Alison Brie from Community.
    Marc Maron playing Sam Sylvia.
Awesome Kong and Alex Riley have parts in the show as well.

It looks reasonably interesting. I saw a few feminist/SJW nonsense mixed in, so I'm a little skeptical for now. We'll see.

Loved GLOW when I was a young pup and I been waiting for this to come out

The documentary about the real series from the 80's is up on Netflix and its definitely worth checking out if you havent seen it

I've watched the first episode, not gone further than that just yet.

It shifts tone a lot between comedic and actually quite depressing. I like Allison Brie, she's a good actor but, I do worry as others have said that it is gonna be really ham-fisted on the whole "Men are awful and evil and women are the best!" sort of thing.

Also, holy overdose of 80s references, Batman!

Will at least give episode 2 a watch before I make more of a judgement on whether to continue or not.

I've made it thru 4 episodes so far and not sure what I think of it yet. I'll give the other episodes a watch but it's not really a series I could see myself watching a second time.

I like it so far. Haven't laughed so hard in a while- though it probably isn't for everyone and depends on what you are expecting going in.

I laughed way harder than I should've when Maron referred to abortion as a "womb goof"

Between that and the girl acting out the 'miscarriage' with the ketchup, I spent a good portion of the episode going: <bball2>

Just about to watch episode 3, ep 2 was far better than ep 1 I would say.

Just watched the first two episodes. The first one with the "cringe humor" was a bit weak, never my thing. SNL writers and the like love that shit, though. Making your main character unlikable from gate is pretty risky.

The second episode had a better formula. I'm glad they put a little humanity into Marc Maron's character. The angle development storyline reminded of what Jim Cornette brought up about pregnancy/miscarriage angles.

Good cast. Half expected the spider-limbed Indian girl to have been the spider-limbed Indian dude from Commumity. Hawaiian girl seems more natural in her delivery than the big names. Ketchup bottle girl's character reminds me of a few people I've known that you cant stand because, even if you beat the ever-living fuck out of them, they just don't stop being an ass.

Cool to see that numerous wrestlers will be in it.

I'm not really liking the show. It's not very funny, only a couple of Maron's one-liners made me laugh. All of the characters are unlikable. The women are pretty much all awful except for the "legacy" girl.

That's kind of a problem I have with every Netflix show. I can't get into any of the characters.

Amazon has better shows. Red Oaks is better than every Netflix show put together.

I stuck with it and it definitely gets better as it goes along. I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10.

I watched the 1st episode whiel drinking and do not remember any of it. I seriously have to go back and rewatch. I seem to remember something about one wrestling chick sleeping with her friend's husband.

The show does seem to get better and more nuanced as it goes along. I just finished episode six and my guess is the pizza girl is Sam's long lost daughter or something. Also, if it gets said or not, I think that Sam hit on something in the car when Ruth was doing the Russian bit and he says that people do what she did when they're high or drunk or someone does something that makes them feel so small that they have to lash out to remind themselves that they're still human.

Ruth was so put off that her friend achieved the success she wanted AND tossed it aside for a life away from her that the frustration manifested in her being a skank-ass homewrecker.

I was in tears from laughing during the last episode when those three guys started screaming at the Indian chick from the crowd.
