Glory 56 Denver Thread

It' s not that easy. As a Champion you get more startmoney as well...

What happened to Glory's open scoring, you know where they showed the score of that round between rounds?

Do we just all assume that girl fight was fixed and someone made some serious cash on that 28 to 1 odds?

Could be, nobody really knows.
This time there was no open scoring, i also wondered. But in Danyo's and Anissa's case i saw the statistics of landed Shots in favour of both above named fighters. Than i heard the result and couldn' t really believe it...

Most U.S. states don't allow five judges and open scoring. I think they have only had open scoring at one or two U.S. events. Menezes was as high as +1275 at the very most at one sportsbook, so a big upset for sure but not anywhere close to 28 to 1 for the underdog. Bad scoring doesn't need to be explained by a fix, especially since the maximum bettable limits on Glory are much less than you can get on a big UFC or boxing match. I wish I had more on it at the +1075 I had though.

Interesting. so did Joe just pull the 28-1 out of his ass?

I don't recall Joe Valtellini saying that on the broadcast, but if he did he might have gotten confused with the odds on Meksen as the favorite, which were a much larger negative integer over -2000 for sure if I recall correctly and maybe even -2800 some places. Which of course, means you'd have to risk a whopping $2800 to win $100, not the opposite.

I don't think Denver is a place you'll see Glory go again for a long time, if ever at all

off the top of my head, wasn't Adegbuyi vs Wilnis in the G24 tournament final also really badly scored, everyone felt Wilnis won but Adegbuyi got the nod?

There's an issue with judging in the US compared to the EU for sure, and I feel like Colorado have been persistent offenders. If that's true what Steven Wright was saying, holy shit. That's insane.

Anissa Meksen also files for protest. It is on her FB site...

Commissions and promotions are loathe to reverse decisions, but in this case I hope they take her case seriously. Especially since it won't cost me anything as bookies only go by the decision on the night, not taking money back or paying out if the decision gets reversed on appeal later.

sorry, are you saying you bet against Meksen prior to G56?

Yes, scroll back in the thread if you wish, it was discussed previously. I had a feeling Menezes' forward movement and volume could confuse judges and it turned out to be true, happily for me and sadly for Anissa.

If you watch to watch the replay of the event, I found this on Youtube.
