I have mixed feelings on that stuff. Obviously there are some magical guitars out there but the worst bass I ever owned wasa 60s EB-0 . Just a mess.

I believe it. Sometimes there are some duds but the best guitar I ever played was a 1961 strat. Just so easy to play, great acoustic tone, and the best pick ups I'd ever heard. I was lucky enough to rent it for a recording. I'll probably never own a real expensive vintage guitar like that but I am putting some old pups in two g&l's for studio stuff. I'm putting 3 fender humbuckers from the 70s in one strat esque G&L skyhawk, and 3 lipstick pick ups in another- sort of like SRV.
