How are you German and still stuck 3 years behind everyone else in regards to this topic of discussion?

Again: What's done is done. The difference between me and you is that I'm glad that they're at least doing something to reduce future fall-outs from Merkel's epic blunder, while you are decidedly in the "oh why even bother!" crowd.

I think one of the reasons why the right wing AFD "only" got 13% is because they displayed the same kind of behavior.
In the hight of the Brexit and Trump they were talking about 20%+. But as it becomes clearer that just having a slogan and no actual policy proposal they went down.
Not taking in any more migrants and deporting many of them sounds good. But you need to offer a plan of how you would do that.
Especially because you still have to work with other parties and within the EU laws.

Merkel getting a refugee cap of 200,000 and a 1000 cap on family reunification is actually not a bad achievement.
All things considered.

Rejected asylum seekers who cannot be deported has increased by 71%

The number of migrants who cannot be deported rose in Germany in 2017. Authorities often struggle to obtain the relevant travel documents from their countries of origin, according to a report.

The number of rejected asylum seekers and migrants who cannot be deported as they lack the necessary travel documents has increased by 71 percent, to 65,000 in 2017 from 38,000 in 2016, according to an internal report by the German Interior Ministry seen by the Funke Media Group.

In many cases, German authorities cannot send the migrants back to their countries of origin because the necessary paperwork does not get completed by the relevant embassies and consulates.

Cooperation with India, Pakistan 'poor'

The report suggests that Indian and Pakistani authorities, in particular, rarely cooperate. With regard to India, it says that "processing requests for replacement passports [is] slow or nonexistent, despite frequent visits to the embassy."

Regarding Pakistan, the report says that "replacement passport procedures are being processed, but there is a lag." The report also mentions that cooperation with Lebanon is sketchy, with "replies to requests very rare. Contact with the embassy is poor."

Cooperation with Turkey on migrant issues has deteriorated since late 2017; the report says it is "poor to very poor, nationwide." The report also stresses a high number of cases from Afghanistan and Russia.

In 3,800 cases, the person's nationality could not be established.

Last week, a report suggested that half of all rejected asylum seekers successfully challenge the decision to deny them asylum in Germany.

Germany processes more asylum applications than all other EU states combined, according to Eurostat, the EU's statistics office.

One in two rejected asylum seekers win appeal in German courts
Rejected asylum seekers in Germany almost always challenge the decision in court, and around 40 percent of them win. The number of such appeals nearly doubled from 2016 to 2017.

Nearly half of all rejected asylum seekers win their challenge against the decision, according to a report published Friday.

Over 328,000 asylum seekers appealed the decision to deny them asylum in Germany in 2017. The new data resulted from the government's response to a query by the opposition Left party obtained by the Süddeutsche Zeitung daily.

That figure is almost double the amount in the previous year. Decisions were made on 146,000 cases.

Around half were formally decided in Germany's courts, meaning they were made without a closer examination of the content of the asylum submission. That is because plaintiffs reached a deal with Germany's Federal Migration Office (BAMF) or withdrew their claim before the verdict.

In the remaining cases, however, where the courts decide on the substance of the appeals (for instance rejection of the application to implement further asylum proceedings), some 40 percent of plaintiffs managed to overturn the BAMF's decision.

Refugees from Syria and Afghanistan were successful in over 60 percent of the cases.

Only about 1,400 asylum seekers decided to file a second appeal after losing in court. The BAMF ultimately won nearly all of those cases.

Left Party calls for better legal counsel to refugees

The data shows that around 91 percent of asylum seekers took their case to court after being rejected by BAMF in 2017. The courts complained of an enormous caseload, according to the newspaper.

Senior Left party lawmaker Ulla Jelpke on Friday called for the refugees to be provided with better legal counsel. According to Jelpke, there would be fewer misunderstandings if asylum seekers were better prepared for their hearings.

"Ultimately, this will also raise the quality of BAMF's decisions," she said. "There would be fewer appeals und fewer overturned decisions."

Success on appeal meant that most of the refugees received protection under the Geneva Refugee Convention, but only a few were given asylum as enshrined in the German constitution, which is a status granted only to politically persecuted people who did not come to Germany from a secure third country.

The difference in status is important, as only those who receive asylum can be legally followed to Germany by family members.

Scores of refugees attack German police cars over deportation case

About 150 asylum seekers have confronted police officers in a small German town to prevent the deportation of a Togolese man. Authorities said, due to exceptional circumstances, they had no option but to release the man.

A refugee, who was due to be deported by authorities in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, has disappeared, after about 150 asylum seekers attacked two police patrol cars that had been ordered to remove him, police admitted on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the town of Ellwangen, between Nuremburg and Stuttgart, early on Monday morning.

Four officers arrived at a migrant reception center in the town to collect the 23-year-old Togolese man, officials said.

The refugee group then started attacking the patrol vehicles, and harassed and punched the officers, before giving them an ultimatum to free the man.

"They were very aggressive and ordered us to leave the man (...) behind," said one officer who was involved in the fracas.

Deportee freed

Due to the seriousness of the threat, police at the scene said they ordered a security guard to find the key to unlock the asylum seeker's handcuffs. He then fled the scene.

Although about 20 officers and officials were eventually involved in the standoff, police said they had no time to call in additional back up from other police forces.

The incident was immediately seized upon by the regional leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Bernd Gögel, who described it as a case of the state being "blackmailable."

Other politicians demanded that those behind the attack be found and punished, including Uli Sckerl, a Green party spokesman in Baden-Württemberg's state parliament.

"Attacks on police officers are unacceptable," he said. "In a constitutional state, such conduct must have criminal consequences. It's clear that frustration is no excuse for crime."

Officers praised for composure

The officers' actions were praised by Bernhard Weber, Vice President of the Aalen Police Headquarters, who told the German news agency DPA that although the attack justified a violent response from police, the officers "kept a cool head."

Another Police spokesman Bernhard Kohn, told the online edition of Germany's Focus magazine that officers "face a question of proportionality."

"Just to carry out a deportation, a violent confrontation with such a large crowd would not have ended well."

Such peaceful and civilized people.

It's like trying to evict homeless from a nice home they've been living rent-free in.

"No one could see this coming."

Also goes to show they can use violence and make demands and the cuck police will give up. It's a wider commentary on Germany and it's future when Muslims become a big demographic as they let them import their relatives and high birth rate. Explains why UK is so cucked.

Unless the German police galvanize to enforce deportations, such actions actions by asylum seekers will effectively render the warrants non-authoritive in fact, making the refugees the practical authority.

The guy has been deported shortly after.
As much as some of the anti-German propaganda like to say there is lawlessness in Germany its not.
The German authority just realizes that deportations need a long-term strategy.
What would be the point of a violent breakup or even shoot some people?
It is much smarter to wait regroup and do it peacefully after. That way you can go on with deportation instead of courts or activist get in the way.
All things considered, this was handled well by the cops. The guy was deportment with the least amount of damage to further deportations. Sounds good to me.

Look to history when studying Multiculturalism, it’s a failure.

It also leads to wars.

that woman is ruining Europe, get rid of her!

There is an upcoming election campaign in Bavaria, when it's over we keep let them pass as usual, only a smokescreen.
