She's doubling down on a failed bet.

Strong leadership.

Have to admire someone doubling down despite the assurance of disaster. This takes ideological obsession on a scale few can equal.

You made this comment in 2015. How could you have possibly known?

Lol at those poll results. We almost got something unanimous.

Edit: also, at least half the minority votes are from admitted trolls or a clear troll vote from someone who doesn't believe that

Ask troll questions, get troll answers...

Good for her, to admit the truth. Now Germany can do something about it.

You are joking right?

They are doing something about it.

Merkel Demands ‘Solidarity’ From EU States Balking at Taking in Refugees
By Patrick Donahue and Arne Delfs | February 22, 2018

German Chancellor Angela Merkel fired a warning shot at European Union member states that have balked at sheltering refugees and thrown democratic standards such as the rule of law into question.

A day before an EU summit that will tackle the bloc’s budget planning after the U.K.’s exit, Merkel said in a speech to the German parliament that Brexit offers an “opportunity” to reassess how the EU spends money. Funds should flow to EU members that have joined a bloc-wide plan to take in asylum seekers, she said.

“Solidarity isn’t a one-way street,” Merkel told lawmakers in the lower house in Berlin on Thursday. “It’s the obligation of all member states never to lose sight of the whole -- and that includes respecting the values on which the European Union was built.”

Merkel’s comments were directed at countries such as Hungary and Poland, whose leaders have refused to participate in a proposed system of spreading the burden of sheltering refugees.

I would think the resident make pretend news reporter @Arkain2K would show less bias in his polls.

Disappointing.

its mr pedantic !!

elderly germans are scrounging through bins and Mutti is living a good life...

Some old people are weird and just like doing that kind of shit.

They grew up during a real depression and a World War.

My grandma used to save food forever in the freezer it was gross.

Arkain makes good threads so no offense but the question is about as leading as it gets.

So there is only two models? The melting pot or massive influx of young males from an very non complimentary background and war torn region? Nothing wrong with retaining CERTAIN aspects of a foreign culture that does not conflict directly with western values. Should we have never learned Judo / MT and just stuck to boxing and wrestling?

Greece Refuses to Take Back Refugees from Germany
By Philip Chrysopoulos | Mar 1, 2018

Greece has refused to take back refugees from Germany, in violation of the Dublin Treaty, says Germany’s Passauer Neue Presse.

According to the report, in response to a question by Germany’s Left party (Die Linke), the ministry of the interior replied that Germany had made 2,312 resettlement requests.

However, even though Athens admitted that it was responsible for 81 cases, Greek authorities have so far not taken a single refugee, the ministry was quoted as saying.

The Dublin agreement says that the first country of entry in the EU is responsible for examining asylum applications and granting asylum to those who qualify.

According to the German Agency for Migration and Refugees, a total of 2,735 refugees and migrants currently living in Germany should return to Greece, based on the Dublin Treaty.

The German ministry of the interior criticizes Greek authorities for refusing 95 percent of the cases. It does not explain, however, why Greece does not accept refugees from Germany.

Germany received 3,189 refugees from Greece last year in the context of the so-called reunification of refugee families. They are mostly Syrians, Afghans and Iraqis. Overall, Greece requested the transfer of 5,800 refugees to Germany. German authorities approved 90 percent of the cases.

Greece is not the only country that does not accept taking back refugees from Germany. Since May 2017, Berlin has requested the return of 3,304 refugees and migrants to Hungary, but Budapest has not received any back.

Disappointing.

Today was just an ordinary day, but the bitter disappointment from the massive walking irony that is the self-proclaimed "Rational Poster" , regular Top 3 finalist of the annual W.R Worst Posters Award each and every year, just made it a great day.
