So true. This is the legendary film that he made. Anyone that has ever liked a zombie movie or show should be required to watch this. (the original black and white one)

Dawn of the Dead was awesome. My family always talked about what we think happened to them after they left the mall on the helicopter. I am glad that they never made a sequel to it because it allowed us to keep speculating.

Well... They did make a sequel - it simply didn't follow those specific characters.

Romero was one of my heroes.

i met him in 2006 at a meet & greet where we watched the original night of the living dead and the remake by savini. savini was also there. they did commentary the whole 2 movies and afterwards we all got together at a meeting room and bullshitted for a few hours. i got pictures with him and he was a genuine blast. it was one of the best times ive ever had and he was a legit great guy. he even laughed himself to tears when i gave him hell over how funny i thought "knightriders" was. im so happy i met him.

Ironically the first Romero movie I saw was Land of the Dead... Pretty disappointing after seeing the Snyder remake beforehand.

I will have to go back and watch his best work. RIP
