Funk Music.

I saw George Clinton live last year, what an awesome show. The guy is like 70 or whatever but played for 3 hours. Never got boring either.

Flashlight, up on the down stroke, testify and tear the roof off are my favourites.

Awesome pick Cheese! Of course we need some Larry to...

And then there is the God.

Prince shows up, kills it and vanishes without a missing a beat.

Dumpstafunk

Will Rast and the Funk Ark - hot digitty!! These guys are playing in NYC next weekend!!

everybody loves the old school shit for good reason, and I am certainly in that category I love me some James Brown some P Funk. I saw George Clinton live, met his cracked out fucked up ass along with his tour bus full of junkies, yes I am a full on funk head. But people probably miss out on a lot of amazing music by not checking out the new generation of funk.

seriously check some of the shit out you will not be disappointed. If I remember I'll come back and post links. **** EDIT Links are up- not sure why some embedded and some didn't, but I tested one and it worked when I clicked it..... ****** right now I can't do that since I am on my phone and sort of at work, (sitting at an open house even though there's 20 inches of snow and nobody's going to come to this thing) but unfortunately I don't have Goodnuf Internet to post the links at the moment . Maybe later.

Another cool band keeping Funk alive is Lettuce, out of NYC. Here's some material:

Lettuce is one of the most kick ass bands I know of

Sorry guys I didn't read any other posts before writing that. I saw them a long time ago and really want to see them again.

I saw all of those bands you listed at Bear Creek Music festival back in 2008 Jeff7B. I think you guys would enjoy that. Hits basically a funk/jam band festival in one of my favorite places, Spirit of Suwanee Music Park in Live OaK, Florida.

I actually saw Dumpstafunk last night they opened up for moe

I saw MOE a few years back for their Halloween show.. what a crazy fucking night that was.

Sounds like you have some good taste in music. Hope the MOE show was a blast.
