Full Body Workout vs Splits

OP you cannot post a thread on a forum and just expect everybody to deem it as infallible truth. Then you get mad when someone says something you disagree with. DONT

Jim is normally the catalyst of all conflicts on here and is quick to say how big and strong he but actually never provides any relevant information other than to tell people they are a bitch or a pussy.

Not even worth getting into it today with you Jim.

I think, a lot of times, people don't realise that there isn't a whole lot of difference between "splits" and "full body" routines when it really comes down to it.

I guess I'll use a simple example.

"Full body":
Mon: Squats
Wed: Bench
Thu: Press
Fri: Deadlift
Sat: Bench, arms

"Split":
Mon: Legs
Wed: Chest, triceps
Thu: Shoulders
Fri: Back
Sat: Chest, arms

Sure, things can change with regard to frequency of compound lifts (squat, bench, deadlift), but in the end, sometimes it just comes down to semantics and there really might not be a whole lot of difference in the actual programming.

I don't agree with the 3-6 sets part. I also don't agree that you can't lift two days in a row if you're natural.

There are many ways to skin this lifting cat. This was his. He's not you or anyone else so, while worth considering, you have to take it with a grain of salt.

Care to explain how you think that denotes full-body training? Unless your assistance lifts are for other than the main lift. I guess you could argue that squats, pl bench, DL, etc are technically full-body lifts, but that's almost never what someone means when they say that are full-body training. What you're describing is a program designed to train movements, not muscle groups, and that doesn't equate to a true full-body routine IMHO.

People in this forum can't wait to post that response. That's all I care to point out

This doesn't make sense to me.

Why does it matter if people are eager to say "this isn't a BB forum"? It's true! Why does that make it "pathetic"? If I post political stuff in Mayberry, people will say "this isn't the war room". Is that pathetic too?

The point can also be helpful for people who don't understand that there is a huge difference between BB and strength and conditioning, and don't understand that BB has very limited relevance for strength training for athletes. The TS here might be one of those people. The point can serve, just in one sentence, to give people some new information. They will think "Huh, not a BB forum? But I thought BB is how you get stronger for a sport... what's going on... I need to figure this out. And learning begins.

This is a fair point. I get the impression Jimmy stronger than God just likes to talk shit but can see your point

It's funny because if anyone were to take a couple of seconds to remove their heads from their asses and ask thoughtful relevant questions about lifting in the f13 main, Jim is probably one of the best people here to provide you with an answer or at least a resource to find that answer.

A lot of you guys are like my patients who fucking study their illnesses online, come to my clinic and proceed to tell me how to do my job. I LOVE THOSE PATIENTS!!!

I usually let them get as far as they can with it before their dreams of knowing anything come crashing to a halt when science and research and knowledge and experience come in to play.

But by all means, continue to know stuff, please...

Yeah those doctors sure are bright...misdiagnosing people left and right more than any point in history

Really? I'm legitimately curious to see numbers to support this.

Also not knowing what a person has is not always a bad thing. Sometimes you have to try certain things to eventually get to the answer. People have this perception that doctors are these fucking wizards, but they're not. What they are though is educated, experienced and capable enough to figure out what is wrong, or at least find the resources or order the tests to figure out what's wrong. Its very seldom black and white. But I think peoples' tolerance for someone not knowing something immediately (probably because they watch too much house, or grey's anatomy) has significantly decreased.

And then to top that off when some gets injured or has pain guess what their default prescription is?

Quit lifting

Since switching 3 months ago from a strength-based split program to a 3 day a week total body, I've lost the following:

20lbs from my press
30lbs from my bench press
50lbs from my deadlift
80lbs from my squat

Probably referring to this. http://www.vox.com/2014/4/17/562156...ou-were-misdiagnosed-in-your-last-trip-to-the

Although the attributed causes are more systemic, from the nature of paper records, fee-for-service payment model leading to over-testing, and inefficient methods of spreading best practices.

And it's still like a 5 percent misdiagnosis rate.

This was the direction of the "Powerlifers = juicers" thread in the berry that went back and forth with one poster, adamant about a medical professional's opinion (including non-specialists), despite not getting a full 100% of the picture.

Maybe due to a lack in volume?
3 months is a pretty short cycle anyways
