Incredibly frustrating! Too many wannabe "S&C" coaches out there without any formal education.

So he had a degree in personal training from a school IUPUI?

Edit: My bad, IUPUI did not give him a certificate, they give help so he can pass a national certification test.

It seems like it's always the really big guys that die on the football field.

    Temp was 81 degrees.

Heat index can be high with humidity though. Some of these artificial turf fields radiate a ton of heat from what I've heard too which may not have even been a factor. Kent State does have artificial turf.

Sucks cause he likely would have died with any other coach. Obviously these schools need to be accountable to ensure everyone on staff is credible.

Yeah, I also kinda wonder if the same thing would have happened at any other school.

    I bet it would have.
Training at that level is rigorous, and coaches and players are under a lot of pressure. Even if the coaching staff had taken precautions, players are going to push themselves.

    1. How is that not figured out?
    2. This is why they need to make sure the athletes are properly hydrated before all exercise. This is possible in all sports except for wrestling (unless they changed the sport completely).
