It was pretty clear Stipe is the better athlete. Muscles =/= athleticism.
 
Francis gassing because Stipe utilized the ideal formula to beat an untested striker doesn't disprove the "one in a million" praise to be honest. Shows Francis is green and there's more to this shit than barroom brawling.
 
What's he supposed to do?

The UFC is on a downward spiral and Joe knows it. They have to hype up the fight, but in reality they all knew that Stipe was going to beast Ngannou. Stipe just had to make it past the 3min mark, he let Ngannou gas out for almost the entire first round.
 
Rogan being a company man. he's paid to overhype fighters to draw interest. that said, he's an idiot.

Head trauma and cutting are real issues. That said, Rogan say some really dumb shit at times.
 
The guy is a freak athlete, he just forgot that not all fights are over in 34 seconds. Joe is paid by the UFC. What do you expect him to say? Ngannou is relatively untested and Stipe will probably manhandle him on the ground and won't be put away with 1 punch?

I bet Rogan gets a ppv cut.
 
Yeah, I heard him say this yesterday and I lol'd inside. Cejudo, Mighty Mouse, DC etc are all better athletes. Ngannou hits very hard and can do it quite explosively, but that is it. His movement is nothing special, nor are his twitches.

He's 270 pounds. NFL athletes would have similar cardio, if not worse. Just comes with the territory. There's a reason the best HWs tend to be around 240 pounds.
 
The UFC is built on ridiculous hype and when it comes to the vast superiority of athletes in others sports, many people are either completely ignorant to it or very insecure about it so go along with whatever bullshit they are fed.
