Francis doesnt want to sit next to Stipe...

I like Stipe and Ngannou, but my God they are both really hard to understand, could you imagine them both having a conversation for about 10 minutes? lol. Stipe mumbles so much and its very hard to understand what he is saying, and Ngannou has such a strong accent. Would be the most awkward convo ever!. Much prefer to see them fight and thats what they are best at.

Actually he's the underdog

But we'll see. I got Stipe for sure, I just hope he stays calm and persistent in case a certain scramble doesn't go the way he expected. Can't panic or get stuck like Overeem

Screw the betting lines I'm talking among us the hardcore fans this is Stipe's fight.. boxing, footwork, cardio maybe even wrestling mixed up.. just that crazy power/reach can land at any time.

I really wanna see that Stipe vs Cain fight.

Then again just imagine the topics you will make GOAT this and GOAT that.. hmh don't know who to root for xD. Stipe of course.

Stipe sounded much better for the JDS fight don't know what happened but it seems he stopped the diction lessons or something.

Haha I don't know, but the press conference a few weeks ago was very difficult and Cormier saved it. I think they deliberately put Cormrier there to talk a lot and he even answered stuff for Stipe and Ngannou at times. Cormier saved it to be honest, without him it would have been impossible to listen too.

I think Dana had a word with him beforehand I reckon, and Cormier is a very cool guy so I think he was fine with it.

Can't wait for this fight on saturday.. I want these next 2 days to go fast!

Can't wait for that in cage post fight interview. :D

The way these stages are set up are similar to how big companies do job interviews (everyone senses their "place"), so Stipe - being in the interviewers chair - ended up looking like he owns the place. Not saying Francis is shook, but that's the reason they put them next to each other - to fuck with them. See who can't take it. So, again, not saying Francis is shook - still feel like he'll win this, but - he failed this "test".

In contrast you can look at this:

Neither RDA or Lawler give a shit that their opponent's sitting next to them. The only unpleasant part are the questions and the interviewer himself. But there's no uneasy discomfort, they're both alpha as fuck and at ease with themselves.

Staging interviews like this is dumb.
It makes it less likely for fireworks, or heated exchanges to happen because both fighters usually end up being quieter and don't address each other directly. It's just unnecessarily awkward.

Have them face each other and they'd be a lot more willing to address one another.
It's not a job interview, everyone knows you want the 2 there to promote the fight, and you hope that they'll talk shit and give some good sound bytes, but that aint going to happen with this dumb setup

He doesn't like to get chummy with an opponent before a fight.

He was standoff-ish with Reem before their bout, but said he actually likes and respects him after the fight. Said it's just business.

Ngannou would kill a dude if he hit them in the right place. He can’t have that on his conscious so refuses to insinuate cooperation in any of its forms

Ngannou is marketable either way.

He has the look of a super hero, an accent, power of a Ford f-350 in his punch and the ability to reign the HW division for a long time.

He doesn't need to do anything but KO people.
Let’s not exaggerate... I think the UFC said Ngannou was as powerful as a 1984 Ford Escort at full throttle. They didn’t specify the mileage on the Escort they tested, so it’s hard to know exact figures.

Shook, you think?

The thing I'm still intrigued with is why Francis seems to need to think Stipe is intimidated with him, to the extent of claiming he was lying about it at the press conference. Sure it could be just trash talk rhetoric, but it's an odd approach to take on it.

Speaking of intimidation: "The one who intimidates me is myself," Ngannou said. "I'm scared to fail. That is the thing that makes me the most afraid, to fail. Just to think that I can do a mistake and lose the fight scares me so that is why I work out a lot to bring more chance to my size and less chance to my opponent." https://www.cbssports.com/mma/news/...heavyweight-title-fight-against-brock-lesnar/

I suppose that's a good motivator for training—but if that fear kicks in during a fight when things aren't going your way....

I like Francis' attitude about his rough childhood. He's smart enough to know that he shouldn't renounce it, being that it turned him into what he is today.

My hand can slide ?
Really Nunu ga nu nu
listen freak, you re in american soil, you cant just slide your hands on a respectful rival coworker
Some jungle mannerisms never go away methinks
I dont get how all the millennials are rooting for these new rising stars, disrespectful as this brute is
Fuck it
Win or lose, Stipe please land one on this garbage human being for being so disrespectful and send him back to where he belongs

Well I guess he couldn't slide his hand in the fight.
