It should come from politicians with incentives to hide what they're doing or to only show stories favorable to them? It's like you want propaganda. The whole point of a free media, which is protected by the constitution, is to inform the public of what leaders are doing to keep them honest.Priebus is right. And on the topic of state ran media it is long overdue.
We need a media outlet which is controlled and subsidized by the Federal Government. We cannot always trust independent outlets to report unbiased and Administrations should be able to say what they mean. Media ran by a government which represents the people and was elected by the people will offer another and different perspective.
Something like CBC, or BBC is needed. That doesn't mean independent media will be illegal.
But CNN and Fox have shown us with their biases that an administration whether it is Obama or Trump or Bush needs a voice. State subsidized media will also be more independent than private run media and will be run BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE.
The only media we get shouldn't come solely from BILLIONAIRES AND MILLIONAIRES WHO OWN MEDIA OUTLETS.
I think overall the media did a shit job of covering the election and does a shit job overall, but there are solid reporters out there doing good work. The idea that the government should control the media is like putting the inmates in charge of the prison.
