Notes: the Fourth Circuit (Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina) has one of the lower rates of being overturned by Scotus.

Total opinion is 205 pages long, and was decided 10-3. 7 justices joined the majority opinion, 3 wrote separate concurrences, 3 wrote separate dissents. Majority opinion is pages 12-79.

I haven't read the whole thing yet. Neither has anyone else, I suspect. It's been out for 30 or so minutes. Worth noting that it does overturn part of the district court's order, but the injunction on the Executive Order stays in place.

6/12 update:. 9th circuit agrees with the 4th

Everyone likes judicial activism until it's something they don't agree with. The reactions on here were ridiculous for Citizens United.

We need to be blocking the muslims from coming here asap. Not blocking Trumps immigration ban.

Similar to how the ME needs to block Americans/Christians from going there ASAP right?

About 104,000 people have been killed in the Afghanistan war since 2001. More than 31,000 of those killed have been civilians. An additional 41,000 civilians have been injured since 2001.

Total violent deaths including combatants

You think American/christians are as eager to get to the ME than the Moslems coming to your country?

Does the 4th Circuit think they represent the middle east or the American People?

So who exactly takes Trump's executive order to court?
It's in the link.

We need to be blocking the muslims from coming here asap. Not blocking Trumps immigration ban.
The best part of this comment is that both the government and at least one dissent denied this was the purpose of the ban.

And any measures taken need to be constitutional. The court determined that these were not.

You think American/christians are as eager to get to the ME than the Moslems coming to your country?
If the logic the fanatic right uses that Muslims are eager to come here to destroy our country than yes the religious right here (whether actually religious or not) is eager to go to the ME to destroy their countries for their own benefit

While I agree with Pres Obama we are not a Christian nation, that sentiment is not always followed.
Then you can't complain about Christianity invading the Middle East during our wars with the middle east.

Not according to pan.
Reasonable people can disagree. I think it's terrible for our Democracy, and that seems to be bearing out with the way our elections are unfolding. Infinite money and less and less interest from candidates in addressing the issues that need to be addressed to move our country forward.
