Former WWs Gastelum, Whitaker and GSP are 11-1 combined at MW.

If we count Kelvin`s KO over Vitor (NC because of kannabis). They have wins over Vitor, Bisping x2, Kennedy, Romero, Jacare, Brunson, etc.

It is because WW >>>>>>>>>> MW in general, or youth and speed (Whitaker and Gastelum) >>>>>>>>>> experience and size advantage.

Or is it both? I think those old dinosaurs at MW got just too old. Weidman is still in his prime and he finished Kelvin.

It is partly about youth.

It is also about the fact that a WW version of Fighter X is not the same guy as the MW version.

Guys who change weight classes (up or down) are conducting an experiment. Sometimes that experiment works out. When it does, the take away is (or should be) that the fighter was fighting in the wrong weight class for peak performance, and is now fighting in the right one.

It doesn't necessarily tell us anything about the weight class itself, though.

(And the GSP situation is an outlier. He's simply a much better fighter than Bisping, and that got him the win. In general, though, there are far more threats to him at MW than at WW, which is clearly the weight class for which he is most well suited.)
