He wasnt selling , he really thought he was going to beat the piss out of Floyd.
Yep. Just think about the exchange the two had right after the bout: conor, beaten, battered, snot hanging out of his nose, head still in a haze, goes over to mayweather and says "oi, floyd, i made you fight like a mexican!"
Floyd's immediate reaction was classic, and at the same telling. He doesnt respond, and instead, flashes a wry and compassionate smile. Compassionate because conor made no damn sense whatsoever, and because he felt sincere pity for the loud irish fellow that uncle dana pimped out to floyd's world for the easiest $300 million ever made.
And now, through social media, conor just sounds and looks like a beaten, damaged and soul-less man clinging on to past glories and the hope that others will still believe in his empty words. Sure, he can mask the pain by flaunting his newfound riches and posing in front of fancy cars all day, but late at night, when he is alone in his room, with dee in the kitchen tending to dishes, he will feel a sudden dull, slight pain in his head.
And then he will remember the night when floyd took his soul.
