Much has been said about Woodley's role in his second fight with Wonderboy sucking, but IMO Wonderboy also bares some of the responsibility for fight being subpar. What flaws in Wonbderboy's game were exposed in the second fight with Woodley and how can they be rectified?

He's not a good attacker. Counter fighter.
Just as Woodley, so Woodley waited and countered him heavy. In this case, power beat technique.

Masvidal is a counter striker too, and a taunter. So Wonderboy will have to adjust if he wants to win and not get embarrassed.
I think his next fight will tell us where Wonderboy goes from here.

His kicks are amazing, but he needs to improve his hands.... a lot.

I think he is a good attacker but he is too conservative & does not take unnecessary risk . But yes, he is more of a counterstriker.

He came into the woodley fight to win a point fighting match. That was his problem. When he goes in to finish, he's great. Unfortunately, he's a counter striker to a fault.

he has no elite ground game

the takedown menace almost nulified his striking game against woodly

His technique is on point, his athleticism is on point he has all the tools BUT...

...he's too clean and normal. He's not a killer compared to other fighters.

his hands arent nearly as good as his feet. He likes to counter and with Woodley he was gunshy cuz if Woodley touches you you're taking a seat. WB learned that first hand multiple times in the first fight and nearly finished the same way in the second. WB was DEFINITELY a huge factor in that fight sucking. When you're a challenger you cant just dance around posturing and posing for 5 rounds the onus is on the title challenger not the guy defending. hell even human backpack full of lunesta damien maia tried his fucking damndest and got his face chewed into hamburger meat in the process.

That fight was a real catch 22 tho. both guys knew if they over committed they'd getting carried out of the cage. I expect to see WB a lil more aggressive vs other guys without as much 1pko power

If in your opinion Wonderboy was subpar, then why are you asking us? Shouldn't you have some of your own reasons why you think his performance was subpar?

lol everyone talking about his hands, when he knocked out Whittaker, rocked the shit out of cote and dropped him - those guys have good chins. Somebody else said it here, it's a combination of being a counter fighter, and having very clean striking that hurts him - he's gonna have to dirty box a bit with Jorge which isn't his strong suit

He doesn't have a jab or lead strike to work behind when trying to bridge the gap, which leaves him open to counters when he has to close the distance to hit his opponent. Against most fighters this isn't an issue since they don't have the distance control to force him to bridge a gap then counter him when he tries to close in, but against someone who does he gets stuck on the outside playing the waiting game and failing to feint his way in. A fast opponent with good distance control can keep backing up and waiting for him to come in, then hit him with a counter when he finally commits to something.

His hands are pretty garbage if you aren't running straight at him

Durable, but sloppy and overly aggressive. They gave him opportunities and he took them. He can't create his own if you don't give them to him.

face chewed into hamburger meat? no, woodley hit him a couple of times and that was it

Wonderboy will still tool Masvidal. His kicks are light years ahead of Cerrone and the notion that Masvidal will counter is ridiculous.
