Fighters you believe who were overhyped and then crash and burned out of the division?

Matt Brown was simply known as a brawler. I don't anyone, except for casuals, ever pictured him as champion.

Well, typically, when a fighter gets a ton of hype behind him/her, it indicates that the general consensus is that he/she will climb his/her way to the top, i.e., championship status.

Kelvin's not the future GOAT (especially at MW), but only a moron at this point would think that he's not a great fighter. He's earned all of the hype that he's getting right now.

To me it was Paulo Filho and Denis Kang. They had this ridiculous amount of hype back then that is hard to perceive today.

Then it was Charles Oliveira and Edson Barboza. They were overhyped because of their flashiness. I never bought into it.

Next person on my list would be Tony Ferguson but he hasn’t crashed and burned yet.
