It's dumb and reminds me of an article I read about a woman that had the same idea about raising her boys (and girls) to be "more sensitive".

She would not buy any violent toys (play guns and other stuff) and encouraged the boys to play with dolls with their sisters.

Well the boys turned the dolls into guns and swords and fought "the bad guys" with them no matter.

She finely gave up and did the right thing and that was to channel the boys aggression in a good direction and let them be boys.

That's the problem with parents like this the want to "reprogram" nature.
