To the first highlighted statement, I'm gonna assume you meant that as a turn of phrase, alluding to the fact that the majority of non-Japanese fighters (and probably most Japanese fighters too, tbh) were rumored to be on steroids, and probably were, seeing as how there was absolutely no formal testing policy whatsoever. If not, you know something I don't and fill me in.

To the second, Sonnen was TRT'ing it up against Silva in both their fights, which was absolutely legal at the time. He was on testosterone, not anabolic steroids. The latter have always been illegal. It might seem like a trifling difference to you, but words matter and testosterone is not anabolic steroids, even if they're designed to provide the same benefits. Unless you know something I don't, in which case fill me in.
