FedEx Committing More Than $3.2 Billion in Wage Increases, Bonuses, Pension Funding and Expanded U.S. Capital Investment Following the Passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

http://about.van.fedex.com/newsroom...vestment-following-passage-tax-cuts-jobs-act/

FedEx Corporation is announcing three major programs today following the recently enacted U.S. Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

  • Over $200 million in increased compensation, about two-thirds of which will go to hourly team members by advancing 2018 annual pay increases by six months to April 1st from the normal October date. The remainder will fund increases in performance- based incentive plans for salaried personnel.
  • A voluntary contribution of $1.5 billion to the FedEx pension plan to ensure it remains one of the best funded retirement programs in the country.
  • Investing $1.5 billion to significantly expand the FedEx Express Indianapolis hub over the next seven years. The Memphis SuperHub will also be modernized and enlarged in a major program the details of which will be announced later this spring.
FedEx believes the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will likely increase GDP and investment in the United States.

Stormy Daniels got a $130,000 bonus!!

Yeah but you are only melting the arctic by putting more fed ex trucks on the road. hope that 3 billion is worth it

btw this is great. Nobody is against workers getting higher wages and workers getting bonuses.

O wait... When Obama was president the Republicans were extremely anti wage increase. I forgot. I wonder when the military will get their wage increase

b.. b.. b.. but Obama

Certainly some short terms gains with the tax bill, workers get a few grand and the successful get a new house in Hawaii.

IMHO, we won't know for a few years if the tax changes are really working. If government revenues stay consistent or go up then the changes will be great. If government revenues go down significantly and the country has to dramatically cut spending and/or the budget deficit get even worse then the tax plan will be a total bust and a give away o the rich.

What does this make? Dozens of the largest US corporations making investments in the billions while stating that it's due to Trump?

Which is interesting because these same corporations are forced to tow the liberal line when it comes to public relations. They would never exclaim the virtues of a Trump economy for fear of retribution by a mob of loud mouth libs.

But here they are with their actions speaking much louder than words ever could saying that Trump is making doing business in the US tolerable again.

Trust that these companies don't have to do any of these things and they could still reap the benefits. They want to be heard. ... they are voting with their dollars. ..billions of them.

FedEx had over 6 billion in profits last year without tax cuts. And 6 Billion the year before.

The deficit is still increasing.

*Points out that cuts are paid with debt*

"LOL so now libs care about the debt"

*Points out New Keynesianism evidence that government must spend during recessions and tighten up during booms*

"LOL liberals are butthurt"

Repeat ad infinitum.
