Reading the Sokojou tread yesterday got me thinking about how quickly a fighters luck can change, who do you think had the hardest fall from grace?

    To start things off -

Tales Leites - Got some decent wins, got a title shot against silva, loses (embarrassingly), drops straight to undercard, loses, gets cut.

Alistair Overeem - The hype behind him coming into the UFC was wild, fought Lesnar and proved he was pretty legit to the doubters, gets busted for steriods, gets KTFO against Bigfoot. The uberreem hype train seems to be pretty dead.

Chuck Liddell - I didn't really want to put in any of the legends that declined at the end of there careers, but Chuck's is particuarly shocking. Went from top 5 P4P to losing 5/6

    One for fun -
Bob sapp - In hindsight this seems pretty stupid, but he was intimidating as fuck back before fighters realized he couldn't hack the whole punch to the face thing.

Man, Bob Sapp was actually good in both MMA and Kickboxing... He was far from the best, but I don't know why he's been reduced to that.

Really, Houston Alexander, though he didn't fall as far as others.

Both Leites and Lutter fought for the UFC MW title and then were cut not too long after that. They were then finished in their next fight in smaller promotion agaisnt mid-tier fighters.

Houston Alexander, Shinya Aoki and the most disappointing for me, Andrei Arlovski. How is that guy not more successful?!?!

    No mention of Joe Daddy?

Got rnc'd so hard blood squirted out of his forehead and then he never really recovered. Went from LW champ to barely being able to beat no names.

Don't forget Miguel Torres either, though he was a bit of a can crusher so its not as bad.

My favorite fighter of all time Chuck Liddell. I still get sick when I think of his last fights. Torres comes to mind as well but know one was more high profile than Chuck.

Forrest ring time wise he career was basically derailed in 5 mins or 8 months.

He went from being champ winning the first two rounds of his first title defense to being on the receiving end of the single most soul crushing beatdown in MMA history

Arlovski doesn't have the chin man. If he had a hunt or nelson chin he'd be in the goat talk. Just imo though

After Sokoudjou, it would have to be Houston Alexander. Leites as well. As others have said, he fought for a title and was cut soon afterwards.
