Working on teh one-inch-kick?
I kinda like the fast short head kicks over the full motion thai kicks.
Thai kicks for the legs and body. Snap kicks for the head. Most of the time.
Definitely those are fast ones... Nice technique.
I like front leg head kicks a lot. One combination that works really well for me is all off of either the right side or left side. From orthodox it would be rear leg push kick, step down & right jab while positioning your foot a little bit out to the right at the same time. Then you immediately throw the front leg right roundhouse kick.
Why not just headkick from the left since you're in a SP stance at that point?
@Frode Falch you ever threw a headkick with boots on?
i tried it once in a fight and it didn't work well
Footwear of most kinds mean that turning the non kicking leg over dont feel right.
So i only like push kicks or front snap kicks to the head with shoes on.
Same here. But I use mostly the back leg.
Nice hook kick too in there... nice to mix it with one of those. Lots of people in TKD use that after some high snap kicks, it has high landing percentage since people don't recognize immediately the difference when the leg is rising since they have the snap kick in mind...
Sidekick. Savate style.
kind of reminds me of bruce lee's side kick. I wonder if he got it from tkd or savate. I heard he was into savate.
Your lead leg roundhouse kick reminds me of the jkd hook kick. and you know, with lead leg kicking... follows the "economy of motion" principle... so it should be easier to land head kicks like that because it's closer to the target rather than the rear power leg.
By the way how'd you get your kick so smooth and fast?? Do you do a full splits? I've been trying to get that swiftness and smoothness that you have when going head height but my balance and everything is a little off. Do you do chinese splits, mid splits, and straddle splits? Gosh damn I been wanting to do kicks like that man!
- So that`s is Sasha Mitchell on the video right?
Yeah i can the splits noooo problem.
share with me dude how did you train to kick like that?? it's amazing... I need to know for myself lol
Speed balance and technique. Only the last part of the kick is really fast. The whole kick is 3 steps.
1) slide (move your feet)
2) lift your knee and hip
3) snap out your foot
I know how to kick, but I don't know the supplementary training to get that fast and flexible. So pretty much that's easy to do because you can do a full splits?
I guess. Being flexible is very important. But good balance and being relaxed is also important.
Kicking in slow motion with good fluid form. Without getting out of balance. That gives me speed.
