Excellent visuals and analysis that raised my appreciation of what was going on in that fight. What Really Happened at UFC on FOX 24 (Rose Namajunas vs Michelle Waterson) TheWeasle "Here I will break down the title eliminator bout between rising stars Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson. What were Waterson's shortcomings? How did Namajunas capitalize? Where did the skills differ the greatest?"
does the guy have fucking autism or something? Can he not just say rose and michele? must he say their full names every single time he refers to them?
We knew that Michelle had weak Boxing and couldnt compete with Rose if she bypassed kicking range and wanted to throw hands; that is why clinchfighting should have been on the blueprint from Jacksonwink. That is probably where Michelle should have gone instead of to the head and arm throw in the beginning. For all that Michelle may have done wrong i really think her camp let her down. Its like they never saw the Karolina fight.
You need an analysis on what happened in that fight? It wasn't Machida VS Shogun dude. Waterson used yellow belt moves which works against other Soccer Moms, but Rose has actual technique and used it to beat the fuck out of her. the end.
In this article, Connor Ruebusch makes the suggestion that Rose Namajunas needs to add a retreating jab to her arsenal. He uses the exchange shown in the gif below to broach the subject, but points out that the fight in which Rose actually needed the retreating jab was the one with Karolina Kowalkiewicz. I thought it came down to KH losing position after the throw. Gave up her back and had to defend for a while, then fought to get back to her feet against the cage. KH's clinch strength was diminished at that point, couldn't throw her again and instead had to kickbox where Rose did a good job closing in, as she has the better hands. The hip toss is a risky move like pointed out when Ronda fought Liz. Came down to muscle endurance after Waterson got out of the bad spots. That's the one area since needs to improve, imo.
Someone took the time to do a breakdown of a chick fight? I sure hope he got good angles of the jiggling at least.
That was the best Thug Rose we've seen. Hopefully she fights like that against the winner of Joanna - Andrade. #ThugBless !!!
