Gecko would never accept a risky fight in his whole career unlike Bisping (fighting gastelum). which is why he will never have the respect that Bisping gets.
 
St.Pierre will get more respect since he defended against actual contenders when he was champion in his natural weight class

Picked and chose fights and ducked anyone he didn't think he could beat. Sure he is a great fighter but he isn't a warrior like Bisping who will legit accept any fight and dosen't care if he gets his ass kicked.

That's why people who understand the sport will respect Bisping more
 
GSP has fought and beat everybody. Came back after a four-year-lay-off and took his belt. Come on, TS.

Which top WWs did he duck while he was champion? Other than his teammate, of course.
 
Gsp has more heart, intelligence, toughness, strength, skill. Bisping had height, weight and cardio.

Didn't help him survive the riddum.
 
So much heart and warrior spirt he took on a senior citizen and a 4 year retired WW as his only defenses.

Ehh GSP definitely faced the top guys without hesitation at WW, the only exception was Johnny Hendricks, and that's because GSP felt Johnny was doping too heavily. Kind of like how Fedor felt about Overeem. GSP still faced Johnny though even without meaningful testing so kudos to GSP.

GSP may not be Bisping or Lytle, but he's got perhaps the most underrated heart in mma.

I don't know if I respect Bisping more than GSP, one thing is for sure: GSP is a much better person than Bisping.

But again, I reckon your point.

Thing is: Nowadays McGregor is the standard for ducking fights, and we have to admit that GSP has more title defenses than McGregor in hist last 5 years, of which 4 he was retired.
